im worried about a section of it not getting enough light.. i have some "shadows" in my tank from my big rock and some of them are in the shadow.. a good aount of them are out in the open.. weel seee how it does...
hopfully someone can identify as soon as they open up. . how long do they normally take anyways to open?..

the ones in the shadow will probably grow to stretch into the light so dont worry too much. They can take between a few hours to a few days. Sometimes longer

also theguy that i got my tank from was running this tank i guess for a year or so. Do i need to change my lights right now?.. My coral is doing great but it looked much brighter at the fish store. I guess they have way better lighting then i do which is why.

If the lights are a year old I would change them. I probably would have changed them when I bought the tank anyway.

+1 a good rule of thumb is changing pc lights every 6-8 months. That is the exact reason why I hate pc's and will be getting halides soon
PC bulbs are just so expensive and have to be replaced very often

nice zoas man, thats a good size chunk! as for your little one that fell down, it will probably be ok. If it starts to look like its not doing good i would move it.
As for lighting options you could always look into the nano tuners lighting upgrade if you wanted to still keep your hood.
