really? ----, didnt know i will run into those kind of problems.. *checking PM now.. thanks for all the help WHISK you really have made this learning experience a lot easier.
edit:
Damn, not bad .. for about 100$ i can double my lighting. I wonder if my LFS has any customs for my tank instead of ordering online. Gotta look into that. Im down to have sick lighting, i dont want to spend a ridiculous amount but if its in the 100ish area i will definitely upgrade my lighting.

your test results were similar to mine as far as length of time. Not too long ago you had nitrates, and now you have 0 nitrates, you also never really got an ammonia spike, similiar to what happen to me...have you notice any brown algae growth on your rocks and sand?
also, out of curiosity what has your lighting schedule been like?

very light brown alage.. on my sand.. but nothign crazy at all.. the rocks have very little as well but nothing outo f hand. My lighting for the most part for my cycle had been off (recommended frmo the fish store) told me it had no point in staying on and for the last two days that i have been in my office they had been on from 7am to 2pm ISH .. 3 at latest..
anyone recommend a CUC!? I want a lot for cleaning purposes (clean everything) and since the tank is so small it gives a lot more life to the tank... i wanna load it up with little snails/crabs/and everything else you guys recommend.

as far as ammonia spike goes i dont think i would notice it because i JUST ran my test.. remember i just set my tank up and never really tested it up until this week.

well, a little while ago you said you had some ammonia reading..then it went back to zero. And then you started to get some nitrates, which is a good sign! it means your LR is doing it's job.
the reason i ask about the brown algae is because its usually the sign of a cycle nearing its end and a signal to get your CUC. You have begun to run lights, that will help the algae grow. The algae will feed your CUC.
So, it might be time for you to do a water change and get your CUC.
I would prefer if you got more than just my advice, but some choices are cerith nails, nassarius snails, red or blue leg hermits, turbo snails, asteria snails, seem like the most popular choices. As far as how many you need for your 12g hopefully someone on here could answer and hopefully give you a good combination. if you look in my thread you can see what i have in mine so far to give you an idea.

sounds like a start, the 4 snails you are referring to that come out when you feed them sounds a lot like a tonga nassarius snail.
lets see some pics sucka!

1more, and you can see that stringy looking slime thats on the back rock (LONGG HAIR LOOKING THING).. looks like a scratch..
you can ALSO see all the bugs on the glass i am talking about.. looks all scratched or somthing..
just showing the placment of my koralia.. i have it tucked into chamber 3 for the magnet.. pointing to the side wall/top of the tank so the current isnt ridiculous for the fish.. i can always swap her up if i need more.

the guy at the LFS said that i should feed the crab/snails some mysis shrimp? I bought some.. he said obviously don't throw the whole thing in there but he said "feed it everyday" .. opnions?

Feed every other day.
Also, I don't see any reason to feed the tank, as there is already algae present. Just let them do their job which is cleaning.

really? Looking at the tank now, its EVERYWHERE .. lol.. ill see what it is tomorrow as i will do another water test and see what its loooking like.
Also my temp is now up to 81.. grr, maybe while the lights are on it goes up and comes back down when the lights go off.. is this going to be a problem, as it fluctuates from 78-81 ?
