I still think they should use the 4 big bowl games as an 8 team playoff. It only adds one week of games before the NC game and makes it much more likely that the best team makes it into the championship. 4 teams selected by a committee still leaves room for controversy. Still it's better than what we have now.
The colleges were whining if you had that large of a playoff system, then you take away the hype and $$$$$$$$ that they get from the BCS Bowl games. They even used the "it will take the football season into late February, which gets too deep into the basketball season." or, "it would take too much time away from a football player's academics".

No, everyone doesn't do it
Notre Dame
Navy
Purdue
Michigan
Michigan State
Miami
Stanford
Arizona state
Northern Arizona
Illinois
Missouri
Utah
California
I can pull up a whole lot more but I agree more conferences are starting to schedule rent A victims seeing how the SEC has used it to such an advantage for so long.
I agree A&M made a smart move bolting. My mom's family is from Arkansas. I remember when the Southwest conference was Arkansas and 11 teams from Texas LOL! I personally think they should have traded LSU for A&M. It would have made both conferences much more interesting.
Notre Dame doesn't count. They're not even part of a conference. Neither is Army, Navy, and BYU. Shoot, Notre Dame even has it's own "rule" regarding selection into a BCS Bowl -
Due to the "Notre Dame rule",[sup][6][/sup] independent Notre Dame receives an automatic berth if it finishes in the top eight.
Don't even get me started about their TV contract. They could have the worst team of the decade, but they still get every game shown on the Notre Dame Broadcasting Company (NBC).

Notre Dame doesn't count? Aren't they a college football team anymore?
Oregon State
Nichols state
Wisconsin
UCLA
Arizona
Washington St.
Like I said there are more.
I don't like Notre Dame, Don't like their special deals but they probably play the roughest schedule in the country.

If u think Norte Dane has he roughest schedule in he country I beg u please look at sc
Honestly idc about Norte Dane because they don't pla enough ranked teams for I to matter when the BCS champ. Rolls around

As an Independent, they have more options as who they choose to play. Most conference teams schedule Division II and other patsy teams at the start of the season because they can't get the other Division 1 Conference teams to commit to play another "powerhouse" that early in the season. Could you see Texas playing Ohio State, Florida St., or even Alabama in the first couple weeks of the season? That's almost suicide when it comes to improving your chances to get a BCS Bowl bid. If it wasn't for that hurricane, A&M wouldn't have played Florida the very first game, which is why they're in their current posiiton in the standings. Teams are still trying to figure out offenses, defenses, which player to play in what position, etc. the first couple of games of the season. Play someone too strong, and you're "one and done".

Notre Dame beat number 10 Michigan State and number 17 Michigan. This week they play number 17 Stanford have number 10 Oklahoma in two weeks and number 9 USC last game of the year.
South Carolina has beat Georgia. They will face LSU, Florida and Clemson as ranked teams and that s assuming Clemson doesn't lose to Virginia Tech or NC State which could throw them out of the rankings before they play.
I do believe thats 5 ranked teams for ND verses 4 for Carolina.

LOL! That is as absurd as your political arguments. How is it different for Notre Dame? They are still a powerhouse team so the same issues apply to them as well. In fact it would be harder for ND to schedule top teams because there is no conference ties for them. Teams don't have to play them.

1st off I'm talking 7 sec games in a row starting with Vandurbuilt plus Michigan state is a joke
And michingan is properly one of the most over rated teams in the country right now they will lose to the Trojans and Oklahoma
And Clemson is a joke
Also we every team we played we stomped and unlike the one sided teams Norte Dane has played most of the team we have played and are going to have good O&D

So if Clemson is such a joke we can shorten the list of ranked teams Carolina plays to 3?
You beat Vanderturd by 4 points. What the hell are you talking about?

Clemson is a joke? I'm not saying they're going to be playing for the national title, but they are certainly not a joke. And the game is at Clemson, and while we will have nothing to lose, SC will have EVERYTHING to lose if they are still undefeated. While the defense is not very good, our offense can run with ANYONE in the country... Including Oregon, WVU, and SC... Look at our point totals offensively from this season thus far...
26 at Auburn
52 against Ball State
41 against Furman
37 at Florida State (who hadn't given up a single point at that point)
45 at Boston College
47 against Georgia Tech
We have a QB with 1,748 yards, 14 TD's and 5 INT's through 6 games. A first team All American at wide receiver, and another receiver who has 777 yards and 8 TD's. Not to mention a RB who is probably the best in the league.
I'm hoping and praying that Clemson and SC both run the table, so the game on the 24th could be for a trip to a title game for SC, and a trip to a BCS bowl game for Clemson...

U know your right anyone can run against teams with no d yal ain't played nobody yet plus florida state doesn't deserve to be in the top 15

Look, Marcus Lattimore is a beast, and he will probably put up 150+ and a few TD's against us. But I'm telling you now, your D won't be able to keep Clemson under 35 points or more, especially at home. So don't be surprised to see a 45-47 type game, with whoever wins doing so late in the 4th quarter...
