LOL... you're preaching to the choir on the picture subject...That is usually the first thing I ask people for

Hi...
Thought I would toss this out there, since it's a new tank...what about a rock wall like I did? It saves the sand area for hitches.
What kind of filter are you planning to use?

The nano cube comes with filter and all......I am going to look into the internal skimmer later....Not too concerned yet..LOL
I'm going to try to use the rock I am getting, and set it up with lots of places to position hitches.....I have a lot of Kenya to work with, and I have not decided what else....
since it is established rock....that I will have here, I will not have any parameter issues....I am going to put the new sand in, and the few pieces of small rock in my 10G...eventually when I feel I have eradicated all the green bubble and aptasia, I will use that too.....
remember...I am in no rush LOL......OH I ALSO am buying a chiller :)

OK.....NEED OPINIONS
In the 28G I was going to put 2 black clown gobies, 2 firefish, and the one PJ cardinal I am being given
along with later on....2 horses
How does that sound?

This is probably just a purely personal opinion, but.......
I hate PJ cardinals. They're cute little buggers when they're little, but they get UGLY. If they stayed small and cute I'd have a couple myself, but those colors really tend to fade quickly as they get bigger....
To be honest I think your 2 black clown gobies and 2 firefish is going to be enough for that tank. Maybe a small sand sifter as well, such as a two spot.

From the sounds of things, you may need to make sure the animal you buy isn't pen raised. seahorse source is of course the best way to find that out. Seems they're genetically similar to Kuda, and since the fry are fairly small I'm betting they're pelagic.
They look pretty cute, tho! I'd go for a quad of them if you can get some captive bred fuscus!

LOL...Boy does this sound familiar. Fuscus means brown, so not as much color as the the Reid or Erectus.

From what I have read though....most seahorses change colors to match their environment .....My Yellow reidis did....heck they were bright yellow when I got them...one turned a brown and the other black

You have to understand I am only relating info from what I read. I don't really KNOW because I never had one. Seahorse source says they are brown and sometimes yellow, propbably a dull yellow I'm guessing.
I looked up the meaning of the word Fuscus to see why they named the seahorse that, I assumed it was named after the person who discvered it, But no...
From the Latin fuscus, meaning brown

I was wondering if you would ever get another seahorse setup. Can't wait to watch the progress.

Up until the other day I had no plans of doing one again...yet
BUT since all this rock and stuff kinda fell into my hands......I figured what the heck.....last time I used an existing tank....this time it is gonna be all seahorse friendly stuff, no questions

OK...I have a question....every tank I have set up, has been done differently, LOL
This tank I am buying 40lbs of aragonite reef grade (dead) sand..LOL...I have plent of live to seed it with....IIRC it should be rinsed???? SO, when I get it....can I put it in a bucket and rinse it with ro/di water? SW, or does it matter?
Then I will put it in the CLEANED 28G and fill with SW.....Should I add my cup of live sand then? or wait? ALL of my live rock is gonna be established rock, so no worries there

The sand does not need to be rinsed with sw, and when I started my tank I rinsed the sand with tap water really good. The amount of tap water that made it to my freshly started tank was minimal in the grand scheme of things. I would at the sand when you add the live rock.

Well the live rock will not be ready for a while....I need to be 100% sure that it is pest free.....
Why would you wait to add the sand? I'm planning on adding it as soon as I get it :) and I will put a few pieces of LR from the 10G in with it

Slightly OT...but how many tanks does this make now? You've got the 225, the 54g corner tank, the 29g setup, and now this one.....right? Am I missing any?
