New airline security measures

You should try flying for a hunting trip! Oh my god, the hoops you must run through! Then again I get the mega searches on my luggage anymore, because I won a matching set of camo luggage at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation a couple years ago. hehe...I have even got the "is this your luggage mam?" When I am checking in for a business venture...oh well.....
The greatest one though was I was flying back from Edinburgh Scotland on the day of the plastic explosive in the bottles scare/terrorist attempt happened. I get to the airport to have the Arny waiting there in full tac! Only to go inside and be patted and sniffed and everything Else not one but THREE times!!! That was the longest day of my life. And I agree, that if one person has to go through the search, just make an assembly line and everyone through.

See, I was coming back from Minneapolis about a month ago and was selected for a pat down. So me, being the funny guy I am, decided to have a little fun with it.
As the TSA agent went down there, I gave a nice, fake, almost porn-like "Ohhhhh baby". And then said "I hope you're taking me out for breakfast and a cigarette".
Yeah, that landed me with the supervisor who gave me a nice old fashioned lecture about how "our job is hard enough without people like you making light of the situation".

If I was you I would have sued them and see how powerful they feel. These glorified rent a cops are brainless. Unless you make what could be considered a threat they have no right to detain you.

What amazes me is they would even consider making special exemptions for people from the culture that is the root cause for all these security measures.

I disagree, they should be stricter with the people who caused the problems to begin with. I

Well, we brag a lot about how advanced our technology is to the extend of having military issue equipment that can see through walls and detect a spot on your nose from a satellite, etc, yet we have to be groped at the airport (pointless because I can stick the bomb up my behind if I was that determined) and Osama bin Ladin is still alive and kicking.
Makes me think all of our bragging is hype.

I agree 100% with meowzer. If the pat down is for one person, then everyone should get patted down. You cant profile anyone and you shouldnt single out a single race, religion, or creed.
However, I should be allowed to have aftershave with me on the damn plane. Gotta be able to smell nice after joining the mile high club.

Beth, for you I will some a little something.. Well I feel that if it is good enough for one person to get patted down then all should have to follow the same rule no matter who you are. We don't even think about these things when were are in a store, if we are in a restaurants, or other places we go. If you are a member of your family had to go to the hospital and have emergency surgery would these be questions that you would ask these things about the surgeon, the nurses, the ambulance personnel that was treating them, I think it would be the farthest thing from your mind at that point the only thing you would be thinking about was them getting the best care they possibly could. I think that all should have to go through that screening no matter who you are, because it is not only the people from the middle east that do these things. Have we forgotten Oklahoma city bombing they were not from the middle east. Have we forgotten all the shootings that have happened not to long ago one on a military base. You can no class people like that because they are not all cut from the same cloth. I also agree with Cranberry if you have a problem with then don't fly stay home or Drive. I think that is the big problem with this world that we class everyone, just something to remember we are all just people. If everyone were the same, thought the same, acted the same I think this world would be a very very boring place...Just my .02

My opinion is purely reflective of math. If 100% of the perpetrators terrorism on 9/11 share similar characteristics (and everyone else who's tried since then) law enforcement should be able to key in on said characteristics, whether it be they all wear one red shoe, or wipe their butts with their left hand and no paper...
To not do that would be well, irresponsible.

Just to point out, the guy who shot up fort hood was a Muslim just like all the terrorists on 9/11...

What about Colombine, pearl, the Uni-Bomber, Charles Manson, KKK, the White Supremacy Group and all the senseless killing in this country, or all the things that are done to revolt against the Government here in the USA are all these People Muslim too. Don't get my wrong here, they people who are responsible for 9/11 and one who thrive for terrorism should be dealt with accordingly but you can not class all the Muslim people the same or for that matter people from the middle east because they do not all think the same.. If we should class all people like that the same then we should take on the thought of Mr. Charles Murray who thinks that all people with an IQ of under 80 should be dealt with much in the same way as Hitler thought about the Jews, March them to their death. He states " that people who have an IQ of 80 or below should not be able to procreate because if we let this happen then this world will be over run by a bunch or Retards!!" and that is just absurd!!

You are describing profiling which is illegal and leads to bad things. Not all muslims are brown and wear towels on their heads.
