this past weekend I
installed a air conditioner
wired a few halide ballast
and hung the light rail with reflectors
my goal was to figure out at last what type if any water cooling i was going to have to go with. At first I got a fair size chiller to handle the cooling but then I thought it would be better to cool the room the tank is in not just the tank itself. This way I will be comfortable AND the water will come down in temp. As of this after noon the garage never went over 78" all weekend and the water temp peeked at 83. I started the halides at 7am and they are still on.
I did this just to see how hot I could get the water. Normaly the lights will not turn on until late afternoon and over night so it can only get better under normal lighting conditions. I keep all my tanks at 82-84 by choice so I am very happy with these results. This means i will not be needing a chiller for the tank which is great.
about all that is left at this point is cosmetics and waiting
