If you want to look with the agitation on you would get some plexiglass and build a topless box with dark sides and clear bottom. It floats on top and you see though it without the ripples.

Water!!! So with the plexy glass you can see the colors of the corals better or just make it easier to view?

both. think of having it as your own reverse pariscope into the reef.

its ok... ill just wait till i get home lol... did you ever think about making the tank slightly wider?
nope three feet was plenty for my needs. at 4 foot it is to hard to reach all the way across and to the bottom of the reef and i would have had to be able to walk around all side. since this was going against a wall that would not have worked.

ahh i c .... since i cant see the pictures that would explain the 3 ft. that should be very nice... you gonna make some bar stools to put around it?
Its gonna be alot like at the zoo when you can touch the sting rays except it will be fish and coral!! lol
are you going to make 2 or 3 viewing boxes for you and company to get a better picture of whats happening under the surface of the water?

today we finished up the returns and started to tile the top. should finish the tile by tomorrow night. the blank spots you see will be for decrative accent tiles but i had to order them. molding will go along with outside and inside edge and then we will start to skin the bottom

in this picture you can get an idea of what the skin will look like. simple but i think it will look good. each panel will open up for storage.

Nice build, I remember when I built my lagoon I have now. there are a few things I would have changed on mine but all in all I'm pleased with the way it came out. here are a couple pictures of mine, it's 550 gallon main lagoon and 55 gal RR fuge/frag, and 30 gallon sump. 635 total gallons, SPS and LPS.

Looks good. Are the boxes going to sit on a stand in the water? I like the tile touch to it.
Tropills, sweet tank man.
