it really is a good amount cheaper. in the end i will have around 3 grand in EVERYTHING a regular tank this size would be FAR more. or course that is equipment only and the live stock will be quite a bit more but still cheaper to build

Ditto! Subscribed. Looks good I have been contemplating building a stand with a lagoon under it that would hold a tank above it. This looks like a good base. I will definately watch for ideas.

I didn't mean anyhting by it, I just kept looking at the numbers and seeing it was 100 gallons off. Totally missed the 100 gallon sump. I can't wait to see it done.

Count me in. What you should do is put some underwater video camera in a few places so we can see what is happing 24/7.

LOL...And then when the fish poops on our heads we can all see it firsthand.

So far this week i have finished lining the frame with 1" ply and 1/4 foam. i drilled otu all the bulk head and cut the liner to fit. i installed hald the bulk heads and will finish the other half tomorrow. After this I need to start filling with water so that I can start laying in the liner nice and neat. then i will cut it flush and install the arm/beer rails around the edge. then its on to the lighting.



I had these killer reflectors made by a local reefer. I feel he did an amazing job. I cant wait to hook them up.

got a few great big tanks ready and waiting for it. i have always wanted a nice long tank to watch tangs zip back and forth in. other then those i wont have very many fish. much of the tank will be for frags so i dont want things knockin stuff all oevr the place to much. the tangs will be bad enough

Two questions, what's the thought process behind the 1/4" foam? Just to even out pressure from the water/liner? You don't think it's going to be absolutely smooshed from the weight, at least on the bottom?
Also, no links, but what is the name of the company/model of liner you used? I see a seam, did you have to seam-it yourself, or it came like that?
