In most cases, the clown will host the frogspawn, but really to be honest with you, in some cases they will even host a powerhead

I got a frogspawn and they didn't pay it any attention until i moved it, and now they are in it on occasion, but I think my pair prefer my xenia, though

They're tools used to measure the amount of salt in your water.
The hydrometer would be less that 15 bucks - plastic and not too accurate. OR a refractometer should be around 100 bucks and will give you a reliable accurate reading.
(you only need one or the other)
Good luck

so i finally got the fresh water drained and now the tank is empty!! last night i cleaned my big HOB filter. i got ammonia test kit and pH test kit. will get the others soon. here are some pictures....
i will be placing live rock in the bottom of the filter and some cheato in it.

yea thats what im going for!! this will be in my dorm room so its a small room and the cleaner the better. i dont need the whole room to stink!! haha other question a forgot what the salinity is supposed to be?

i have 2 more questions... if i put the live rock and cheato in the filter do i still need the actual filters? other question is there any thing i can do with a smaller filter..(turn it into a skimmer?, use the motor for something?)

you should try and fit the filter in there somehow.. or if it doesnt fit get the materials to make some type of filter to pick some more stuff outta the water.
my clowns seem to be hosting my magnafloat haha

probably around 1.020-1.023 if you plan on keeping inverts and coral fish can thrive with a lower specific gravity around 1.017-1.019
