YAYYYYY...I got it and it's hooked up. I got the phosban reactor 550 ...good up to 600g's
We plumbed it thru the mag18 which is the return pump for my sump, and I have GFO pellets in it
AND GUESS WHAT....So far it works

HERE's a pic

I also got my Cascade leak fixed YAYYYY....

Is that your ATO plumbed there to the sump?
Yes.....That's the one that keeps the 225G full....the other float is in my 10G trash can...I keep 10g's of ro/di made up at all times
NYCBOB...we were just discussing that earlier.....tomorrow we are going to look into possibly placing it on the back wall, or the side of the cabinet....:)
OH Does anyone know where the water level should be inside the reactor? Or does it matter????

I think you have it plumbed backwards. The water is suppose to go down the tube in the center, then from the bottom up, and out. It should be completely filled this way.

Additionally,
that's a lot of media in there. I'm not so sure I would have done that much initially. Also did you rinse the stuff first? Usually it's pretty dirty/dusty. And after you get the flow switched around, make sure the flow isn't too much. You want just the very top of the media gently tumbling. Too much and it will rub against itself, and you get that all that rust powder in the tank.

AQUA....The unit is plumbed per the instructions...the pic is when I first turned it on....the reactor is full now. I added what BRS caclulator said to add 3.5 cups..
ALSO...we ran the unit into a bucket until the water ran clear as per the instructions....
APPARENTLY ... according to the instructions it could be plumbed either way,.,I just changed it though, and I can see a difference with the pellet movement :)
NOW...about the GFO.....LOL....should I have NOT followed the BRS calculator???

LOL....after re-reading the instructions....both inlets and/or outlets are labeled input
SO I guess you can hook it up either way.....BUT I have changed it around...thanks AQUA....and well.....I guess it's still working right....LOL...I can see some pellets slightly moving YAYYY I HOPE

Cool beans. Glad everything is in order. For the GFO amount, if that's what BRS says, it should be fine. I just know the 550 is considerably larger then my TLF 150 was, and I don't think I ever used more then half full on it.

YEAH...I figured why go with something rated for less then what I have....LOL...Today I will also do my 1st 40G w/c YAYYYYY.....
How long do you think after running a reactor with GFO should I notice any differences?? Or how long should I wait before I re-run my phosphates tests?

as for improvements, it depends if you can keep it stable after your phosphates are brought down. if kept stable you could see improvements within 2-3 weeks. test your phosphates either every other day or every week

WELL...LOL...My first 40G w/c went ok....Except I misjudged the water I removed by about 5G's....(took out 5g's too much) Thank goodness I had almost 3g's left in my small w/c bucket for the QT...SO i used that....I am making some more water as I type, NOT sure whether I should wait until it's good and mixed, or just let my ato go to work....Will 2g's of ato mess up my sg?????

The ATO in your sump is really awesome.
Thanks...it was really simple too...the white line runs under the house and then back up the floor to the unit which is in the laundry room.... :) each line has it's own seperate shut off valve too....

YAYYYY...I just couldn't help myself...LOL...I had to test the phosphates today. They are about a 1.....I know you are gonna say 1 YIKES....BUT last week they tested almost 10....YUP...10....double yikes.
SO with the chemipure elite started, the phosban reactor started, and the 40G w/c today.....apparently I am making progress

surely it could only get better :)

Yea, really nice. The improvement on the tank will be kinda hard to notice, as it incrementally gets better. Then one day, your like "wow, dang the tank looks good!"
