Pet Co is running the $1/Gallon sale now through mid september, I'd jump on that, BOTH OF YOU!

Meowzer, I can't wait to see what that figi leather looks like once the polyps come back out!
Have you seen the lemonpeel even think about nipping any corals yet?
LOL...I have an empty 16G....I just don;t have anywhere to put it :(

NO, I have not seen it nip at anything but rocks.....It is very very active.....zipping in and out of the rocks....

I am keeping my fingers crossed that it behaves...

HEY BTLD...maybe when you set up the 180....you can have both :)
Once we set up the 180(s) yes there is two. I can have lots of stuff! I'm thinking about keeping my flame and coral beauty that are in the 155G together in the one and the lemonpeel and possibly attempting a bicolor in the other. I know the lemonpeel can't go with the coral beauty, they have the same style body, so I'm going to have to see what other angels I can do, because you know, I can't just be happy with one, LOL

I actually plan on dipping into the Sea Horse world once we're in the new house, I might put the filefish with them. I have to do some more research on this.

I think the biggest you are going to find there is going to be a 55G...and the deal only counts on rectanglular shaped tanks.

Put the 16G in the bathroom, LOL ... But seriously, you're ordering online, sight unseen, not having a QT is a BIG risk.

Good to hear. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you (and me, because if it behaves, I'm getting one) as well.

Correct. 55 is the largest and they have to be standard sizes, which is fine for quarantine tanks and refugiums.

No pics of the conch? That lemonpeel looks fantastic, she's got beautiful blue on her!

Now go buy a QT tank. ;-)

Tongue corals are in the Fungiidae family, so they are very similar to plate corals. On the sand is where they should be. They are capable of basic locomotion (puffing up and then deflating), so they can adjust themselves somewhat. All like Fungiidae, they only get around 80% of their nutrients from zooxanthellae, so they need feed occasionally.

There are two types of Tongue corals Herpolitha spp. and Polyphyllia spp. Herpolitha's have a long groove in the center of the coral, a mouth like a plate coral. Poly's don't (well, they do, but it's not visible like the others). I believe yours is a Polyphyllia
. If there is infact a 'spot' on the front of the coral, definitely keep an eye on it. Generally tissue recession on any Fungiidae
, is not good at all, and it just being shipped, could have been banged around.

Here is part of a table done on another site. It was an informal question to people keeping angel fish and if they turned out to be safe with coral or not. Just listed the Lemonpeel here. The whole table includes about 45 different species.

I love it! I'm really jealous of you and Flower!
My husband told me that for right now I can either continue my hunt for the Harlequin/Orange Spotted Filefish or have the Lemonpeel, and as you recall, I love my filefish, so you know which I choose. I'm not done with this battle though, if a LFS gets one in around here, I'm just going to sneek it home and into the QT.

Meowzer, I never knew you didn't have a QT?!?
