If I remember correctly don't you also own a pest control company? If so, in addition to having the mayor and water untility guy mad at me, I also don't I want to be chased down and forced to ingest methyl bromide!!!!

Thats good , now we need to get ya off the gum. I am going to say this thinking you do not know, I may be wrong. This is what I found out.
I tried the gum once and here are my thoughts;
1. need something in your mouth to replace that part of the habit.
2. only chew the gum 2-3 times JUST until you can taste the nasty pepper taste and then stop chewing (it does no good to chew it like bubble gum)

3. that 1 piece of gum should last you MANY hours if chewed correctly.
4. getting off the gum takes longer to kick the habit.
I'm at day 15 and I am FREE!!!
If I chewed 1 can of Copenhagen a day @ $6-$7 a can times 30 days
Thats a savings of $180-$210 a month. Thats a whole new aquarium in no time, a new piece of chrome for the Harley etc.
Try regular gum chewing the way you are suppose to chew the nicotene gum. Above all GOOD LUCK, we are behind ya

WOW! Copenhagen is that much now? I quit in 2001 and it was pushing 4 dollars a can. I paid 55 cents when started 25 years before that when I was 10 years old. Everyone dipped where I grew up and I stared playing baseball so I just started doing what everyone else did including the coasches. I spent a whole lot of money on that stuff over that time.
I was dipping about a can every 2 days so I figured so if I average that at 5 dollars a can, that's about $5400 dollars I've saved. That covers more than half of my new Honda 1000RR I bought a few months ago.

Whatever you do, don't go back now. If you made it to 15 days, you have it beat so just hang in there. As I mentioned before, I still get triggers from certain things but they are just that. I think about it and it's no big deal. Not like I think about going out and buying a can.

Tangman, I know what ya mean. besides that crap really stinks. You are extra sensitive after you stop thats for sure. Imagine I have taste buds now. Food taste so much better. I too started very young, around the 5th or 6th grade.

I've been on my diet for 3 weeks now and have lost about 8 lbs. That's pretty good as I only need to lose about 20 lbs. I want to get back down to around 175.

Yep...cold turkey here. Quit cigarettes 4 1/2 years ago and couldn't be happier. Good job; keep up the good fight, Barry!

Alot of the trouble comes from replacing the habit. As an example. As soon as I had my breakfast I would put in a dip. Do my routine around here to get ready for work. Brush my teeth, prepare a coffee carafe, get on the road. Finish the coffee, in went a dip. i was to about 1 can a day. I do alot of brushing teeth now; and while on the road I will chew a piece of minty gum for a couple of minutes.
I wish you would try again and post here everyday. We can help each other through it.
Thanks Schneidts. :happyfish Barry
