Holy cow, I just read your entire thread and I am exhausted! You were all over the place. The foxface will normally change colors to black blotchy coloration, your bumpy shrooms are more than likely a rhodactis, A good way to get a lion to eat is with feeder guppies (NOT GOLDFISH). Like said ealier in page 396, keep things consistant, your creatures stand a much better chance of survival when there enviroment is balanced. But all that being said It is all stuff that will make you a better aquariest in the future. Good luck.

Thanks Mrinelfrlz! Yeah I like alternatives.... and I think in the long run, this will work out alot better. The swim tank will be alot better than trying to get a huge reef like that.... If I didn't work or something... That would be cool but I don't have the time.
Mely- The burr fish is related to a puffer... looks alot like a porcupine but his spines are permanently erect. He also doesn't have the issue of the teeth growing out so much... He will still eat things in shells though. He will only get about 6 inches in length total, so he will stay smaller than a porc too.
Yes my fuzzy dwarf went away. I could not get him to eat frozen so I hope that the guy I gave him to can get him trained. I would have but I don't have a place to put him. Plus, he was so tiny that I never saw him and I never could find him when I wanted to put my hands in the tank.... I won't have that problem now though, because....
I bought a 14'' volitan lion today... and also a powder blue. I have an emperor angel (full grown adult, 7'') coming my way on tuesday. I am really excited about that. I think this tank will be gorgeous!! YAY!
And that is the full stock!!
Here are some pics of the new large lion, and my tang!! Hope you like!
P.s. How was the pic quality? I bought the camera like over a week ago and have only used it twice but I like it. It's a G11 Canon point-n-shoot. I think it works pretty well, and it even has "aquarium mode" lol that kinda cracks me up.

ENJOY!

Your lion looks beautiful! the tang too! beware though.... i've heard that angels can pick on the lionfish's fins. I've heard that they and triggers will try to bite the tips off their fins. I may be wrong about that but I would still keep an eye out. I think its good that the angel is going in last too.

Yeah I planned it that way. I wanted to angel in last...
So.... I can't find my burr fish. I really like him BUT he NEVER comes out!! EVER! Even ith food present, he doesn't come out. I saw him yesterday but I can't find him now. :( makes me sad, cause I like him.
The lion has yet to eat, we will try a silver side today and see if he likes that.

He ate 2 silver sides whole but then I found them in the tank a while later. But not they're gone and I don't see them in the filter or anything so... someone was munching on them. I am gonna try some krill..
live food is my LAST resort because I don't want him to only want that... you know?
I picked up my emperor lastnight... he is a BEAUTY!! I will post pics. I am really excited about him. He is nearly show size and he was less then 200 bucks!!! Not a mark on him... vibrant and healthy!! What a steal!

All the guppies are for is to keep him alive while you train him to eat frozen food, they are by no means part of a staple diet.

Thanks. Yeah that is our office, so it's very clean And sophistocated... The stand was black but I painted it using the same tab wall color and then it is actually crackle finished but I haven't put the antique on... Should I just leave it?? I'll post a pick of the office when I get home and you can tell me.

I'm hoping that is net damage on your lion because his scales are not looking so hot. Avoid krill if you can, there is a study in progress connecting nutritional problems and lock jaw to krill fed fish.
Live is fine to get him started. Try to get him looking a little better before holding food from him in an attempt to convert. It won't stop him from eating frozen fare in the future if he's ever going to convert.
The lyretails aren't in with the lion, right? Are we talking about more than one tank.... I'm confused :) But whereever they are, I would add another female or male. One of them will convert to a male and you don't want a pair of lyretails... he will pick her to pieces.

I have the 55 gal reef and I have the 200 gallon swim tank.
The stuff on his spines is already growing back. They are 90% covered now... And the lion has been eating very well. He doesn't like krill at all, but he likes whole silver sides. I feed him those often. Last night, he ate 2 large ones.
Yeah, the anthias are still buddies but they are already in kind of an over stocked tank as it is. The one has already started transitioning to a male and they are still friendly. They swim around together all the time and are very happy. Will he have to be a full male for them to not like each other or??

UPDATE!!!
So I got some new frags today from Nissan. There is
some green acans
green rics
some cherry bomb somethings
some zoas
They are just starting to open up and they look really good! I am excited! All the fishies are doing really well in their new home....except... the mandarin. I have a fuge and all so I am not worried but the end of his tail is turning a strange color. It's like the rest of him looks really well and bright colored and this area toward the end of him is like really pale and splotchy. It doesn't look like an injury. Any guesses?
And then there is the swim tank. It's good too. Everyone is happy and healthy. I have been monitoring and everyone seems at home and gets alone well. The lion has a cloudy eye though. I put the UV back on the tank and hopefully that will help. He is still eating fine and pretty active (for a lion). I am not sure what to do about the eye. No one else in the tank looks bad though. It's just him and it's just one eye... Cranberry?? What do you think?

It's funny that you mention that about your mandarin b/c just the other day I noticed my mandarin was really pale and splotchy. I thought she was dead and when I reached in to see she moved away and started to color up almost emediately. I have no clue why that happened but she seems just fine now... maybe a little slower and less... umm... enthusiastic than usual but other than that.... seems normal. I would be interested also if anybody has an idea on this subject.

I dk what the issue is. I do know that it is there constantly and it is something that is not like topical, like ich. It is something in it's coloring and it's like the ink is leaking out of the vibrant swirls. But just in this one little area. I think maybe it got injured some how and it just looks funky? I DK... We'll see what (if anything) someone comes up with.

I think you have a sick lionfish. That is major scale damage. Albeit, this can happen with a super rough net transfer as can the the cloudy eye.... especially if it's unilateral, but it looks a little "off".
No chance of a QT?
A lot of the prepared pellets now have Beta Glucan in them which helps boost the immune system. I've been using the human grade capsule version of it for years. Fill the silversides cavities with the pellets.
Can you get some more pictures so we can see a little more what's going on with him?

Is his nose that red in real life? Or is that just the pic. Is his tail messed up? Did he come like that or is it progressing... if it is jacked up.

Um I think that is just the pictures? It doesn't look red to me now... It does look red in some of those pictures, doesn't it?? It doesn't seem to be red to me in real life though... Maybe a little pink?
Here is a more current picture that I JUST took of him.
