What an artful dodge

But the simple fact remains.
btw did anyone see where obama said he'd be open to raising the capital gains tax by 66%. 41% of americans own stock.
-obama for the middle class-

Yeah, he is pushing an agenda....
Not like Teflon John is pushing an agenda, though. But, either way, the Republicans will win next election. If Obama wins, they can have 4 years of blaming libs for all the mess Bush has made. If McCainBush wins, they can have another 4 years of Borrow and Spend politics.

If Obama wins the election and we have 4 years of crap and we blame obama, how is that bush's fault? Looks to me like no matter what happens YOU will blame it on republicans. Nice open mind you have...........

Suzy, do you understand the process our Government uses to make pass a budget each year?
If so, would you like to historically look at which Party has been in control of Congess and spent the most money the past hundred years?
President Bush spent too much, no question there.
What's funny is, Obama is proposing spending a lot more
, and raising taxes to do it...

C'mon, guys! You KNOW it would be best for your party if the libs win! McBush has to pull a ReadMyLips big one! We can't keep this Borrow and Spend tactic any longer. McBush will pull out the troops in 3-5 years just like the Libs will. MB will raise taxes just like the libs will. But, if a Lib is president, you can continue to believe your fantasy that Cons want to spend less than Libs! Everyone can see that us not paying our bills is Voodoo economics, and it doesn't work. But, if Obama wins, you can continue to try to get people to believe it does.
Read My Lips! No new Taxes! Make the tax cuts permanent!

So, the last few years, the Cons had complete control of our budget. No veto from the Cons President over any submitted budget, submitted by Republicans. But, our deficit is in the trillions. I thought I understood how a budget got passed, but why don't you explain to me how the deficit we have now is not the fault of the last 7 years of Republican control?

It is, how is it going to get with more SOCIAL programs passed. This president has handed out more money to the people for things like aids, federal aid, and such than any previous president. The dem candidates are saying they will spend more. so how do you solve the deficit buy spending more?
The cost to this country alone for universal healthcare is 3 times the cost of Iraq war per year......so how does our deficit decrease with thinking like that?

Keep fooling yourself....
If you call a program a "social" program, then you can tell yourself it sucks. I am curious what you call all the other programs?
I do like how you guys keep throwing out that Obama will be able to pass a "universal" health care plan, whatever that means to you. The private insurance industry lobby will prevent any changes to the health care system we have now. Yesterday at work, one of our nurses asked me about a Medicare rule and why it is so wasteful. I had no answer except that we are so afraid of changes that even easy cost reductions will be really hard to make.
Cause change is hard for some who don't know how it works.

So, this is the leading question you actually think I should answer? Even though you do not answer my questions?
First, I think if we actually looked into how much money we spend on healthcare now, in America, we could find many ways to spend a lot less. Actually, we could spend much less and have better outcomes if it could happen.
Your question cannot be answered unless I buy into your opinion that the Lib candidates are saying they will spend more than McBush, and that only Libs will spend money. Maybe they are being honest and he IS saying he won't spend money, but we all know how that goes after the election. So, reword it in a way that I can answer it, if you really want my answer.
The deficit could be solved if we actually paid our bills, like our family budget does.
Such an easy concept, really. You use servies and products, you pay for them upfront. Some continue to think you can just use your credit card to pay for stuff you want, but eventually, the bill has to be paid by someone...
(Is there a DUH emoticon?)

How you expect to balance the family budget when mom (Dems)is running for CFO by promising to provide more cable TV channels, more expensive food and longer vacations than dad (Pubs) who is already running a negative balance every month? Making Johnny (the rich) who is old enough to work pay more rent every month wont even cover the increase in allowance Mom promised the 2 younger kids (lower middle class and poor) to get their votes. In the meantime Nancy (middle Class) who is only old enough to have a paper route doesn't get allowance, isn't home as much as the younger kids to take advantage of the cable TV and wont be able to go on vacation because of her paper route takes home less pay than the younger kids get for allowance.
That in a nutshell is what Obama/Clinton propose to do.,

*Why can't we keep spending more than we make? We did that for 50 years of Democratically written budgets...
*The Libs will begin to pull troops out immediately, not in 3-5 years. McCain will allow the Generals to get the job done and not try to hold them to arbitrary timetables than hamstring the military, demoralize the Iraqis, and embolden the insurgents.
*McCain will NOT raise taxes, he will work to cut spending...
*History PROVES Democrats spend more than Republicans...

I'd like to see your proof that Democrats out spend Republicans; most of what I've seen/read suggests the other...see info below.
In the twelve years that a Democrat has sat in the White House, spending has increased at an average rate of 1.29% per year; during the 22 years of Republican presidencies, government spending has risen at an average rate of 2.12%. In other words, spending has grown 64% faster when a Republican sits in the White House than when a Democrat does.
During the 20 years Democrats have controlled both houses of Congress, spending has grown at an average rate of 1.84% per year, more than double the average rate of 0.89% per year during the six years the GOP ran Congress. (During the other eight years, when control of Congress was split between the two parties, spending grew at an average rate of 2.52%. The split-control years all occurred during Republican presidencies.)
When Democrats controlled the White House plus both houses of Congress, spending grew at 1.70% per year, slightly below the average growth rate of 1.83% for the entire period.
The slowest spending growth occurred when a Democrat sat in the White House and Republicans controlled both houses of Congress. Spending rose by an average of just 0.89% during the six years of this situation, which all occurred with Bill Clinton as president and Newt Gingrich as Speaker of the House.
During the 14 years Republicans controlled the White House and Democrats controlled both houses of Congress, spending grew at an average annual rate of 1.92%. During the eight years with a Republican president and a split Congress, spending grew at 2.54% per year.

Yeah, that is why, after 8 freakin' years of complete Republican control, we are almost 10 trillion dollars in debt....
'Cause history proves Libs spend more the Cons!
The interesting part of this discussion is, you guys actually seem to believe that! I think you really are Stephen Colbert!
