ok mp40 owners

we have a storage container in the yard.it came with the house .one of those 40 foot by 8 foor like on a train.
the place i bought my mp40's from sent out my ph's already supposed to get here wednesday.cool

I have lots of storage too....as a matter of fact we are building a 30 x 40 storage building....LOL....BUT NOT FOR fish supplies...some....not a lot

my mp40's come tomorrow .problem is i am swammped with work till sunday.hopefully i can get some time to install them.i want to be around for a couple hours to fiddle with the buttons.

just got home from washing the firetrucks.hell i dont even wash my trucks .i hate washing trucks.hopefully i get the ph's tomorrow i can actually finish work i figure by 2 or 3 and i would love to put those bad boys to work.so hopefully there are a couple people handy for questions.
i know i will just put them n there without reading anything first.i ordered my light bulbs from the same place so i should be busy.then next week time for the cooler .my tank is staying at 82-83 degrees .even with the a/c on in the house.i see the recommendations for corals and fish are usually 72-78.72 seems pretty cold .i figure 77 ?

well got home and there are the boxes.pretty big box for these things.havnt brought them in the house yet.have to call priceline and get nasty now.

well here is my first stupid question.how is this thing considered wireless?it has a powercord from the outside pump part to the controll unit?the box says mp40 w es.whats so wireless about that?
not that it matters but?i assumed the ph would have a cord to an outlet and i could put the controll box in the next room if i wanted.silly me

got them running on random.the tank looks so much nicer without the 5 korilias.i left the #4 on the back bottom flowing across the back.they are pretty cool.they do make a bit of noise when it goes full speed but no biggie.it sure did stir up some stuff in the tank.that just tells me i didnt have eneough flow.but i could see how a mp10 would work better on the back shooting out.might have to get that and be done.but i am pretty impressed.the box weighed 26 lbs.so the battery must be at least 22 lbs.i didnt hook that up yet but maybe tomorrow.i have to replace the light bulbs now.

I said the same thing. The wireless aspect is so that they can have wireless communication with one another and act as master and slave.
I'm getting the MP 10 soon so I can run the Nutrient Export mode with my two MP40s, I'll let you know how it goes. Definitely have to put them in wave mode and just see how cool it looks, and NO, I don't recommend you keep it on that.

i will have to try that.i plan to pick up a few corals sunday now.i am really on the fence now about the chiller .my tank is 79 this morning .so i know its the mh lights building heat.i might try a fan across the top first.the noise in here is getting louder with the mp40's and the chiller will just add to that.

OK...here is my thought.....if your MP40 is making noise it is not aligned properly...I am telling you mine is SILENT

i am sitting here bored.i couldnt get concrete until 11:30.so i have time to waste.i have moved them around .they make noise when they rev up.

OK...there is a distinct noise between the motor and an unaligned unit......an unaligned unit IMO sounds like an airplane....LOL....the motor (at least mine) just has a quiet whirl to it...YES, if I am next to it I can hear it rev up....BUT I have to listen for it
I sure hope the one I get today is as quiet

If you still have it on random, you probably are hearing the wave mode. The motor definitely makes more noise in that setting.

You dont know how many times I have looked at adding a 40 to my tank, just can't get myself to pull the trigger on a $400 power head LOL.
Following along to hear your adventures and opinion...

I know EXACTLY what you mean....I finally got one...last month, and just ordered the 2nd...it is due to arrive today.....of course these are for the 225G
No thoughts of adding any to the small tanks right now

just got home from work.what a nightmare of a day.i use a powerbugger to get concrete into backyards and the ground at this guys house was soft.i trashed hie lawn so tomorrow i have to rent a lawn roller and probably go but some sod.the powerheads only make noise when they rev up.tell ya what though every one of my corals are huge today.weird looking at the tank with all the korilias missing.i have one ph just 6 inches from the top pointing to my overflow on the other side.funny when it revs up i can hear the water being pushed into the overflow.these thing have some serious power.the one on the otherside is half down.the 5 koralia #4's never came close to what these two are doing.i am more than impressed.worth every penny.now i plan to go blow around $500 on corals sunday.this will be some fun.i want to get more reds,oranges and blues in there.and i know those colors cost a bunch.probably going to get my first clam.

Glad you like it.....Mine got sidetracked in freakin McAlester....I HAVE NO CLUE WHY
.....SO I guess I'll get it tomorrow....I am not happy with UPS this week

well i ordered a new r/o saturday and they just shipped it today.i just saw my little sail fin get blown back 6 inches.funny.these things are cool.i sit here and just wait for them to rev up and watch my corals.i hope my mh bulbs come tomorrow.i have the compacts but dont want to take the light unit apart twice.
man i am tired.i am waiting for my fish stix to cook now.havnt eaten yet today.unless you count the three beers i chugged since i got home.
funny i used to but a 12 pack and drive home and drink a couple.now i am so paranoid about getting pulled over i put them in the back of the truck for the ride home.i sure dont want to get thrown out of the fire dept for something stupid like that.
