Oh wow... that's a small clam. I would bowl feed that. I would honestly also use live phyto.
What do you mean by Bowl feed????
Live phyto...lol...Can I get that anywhere, or is it like buying livestock?

I have to read back through again, but what are you trying to get it to attach to?
You just dip a bowl in the water deep enough to cover the clam, bring up a bowl of tank water with the clam and tinge the water with phyto. Wait until it "eats" (the water will clear) and just put the bowl, water and all, back in the tank.

I was under the impression that clams "attach" to the rock they sit on.
If the clam attaches to the rock that it is sitting on...I will not be able to put it in a bowl..

You can accomplish the same thing with and inverted top to a plastic bottle covering the clam. Use the hole in the top to put the food into.

So you have the clam on the sand in a level position? (I still need to reread). If so, the bottle method will work. If the clam in an area where the edge is uneven the bottle won't "seal" and you'll loose your phyto out the bottom.

Yeah it did not look like any OMG!!! in the posts.
I'm trying to take a calmer approach to things

Hey that Longfin Sleeper Goby is going to town in the 54G.....It already has its 'Spot" under an overhang all burrowed out....Funny thing is...as soon as it hit the water, it grabbed a mouth of sand....

NO, It's on a rock.....BUT I think the rock may be big enough that I can find something to fit over it....
I'll experiment with stuff tonight

I got really tired of covering corals for feeding with bottles.
You can see mine in this pic. The marbles are to weight it down and there is are 2 holes drilled in the cap. One had a rigid tubing in it and the other had a hole to let out the air.

EDIT: LOL... I forgot it was an animation! I was like What the.... !!!

Two litre pop bottle top 1/2 over the rock into the sand.

OK...I hope this doesn't sound dumb..lol
BUT...you cut the top off a 2 liter bottle, place it over the clam, and use the screw on lid hole to pour food in???
Is that right?

I'll make one... without the marbles, but you'll need marbles or something to weigh it down. It's much easier that way. I used these things for a looooooong time.

You can silicone some bits of LR rubble... I used that too in the past...
Okay, of course the bottle would be covering the clam. I use such a long rigid tubing to I could place it right over the feeder without putting my hands in the water.

Drill a second whole in the lid to let air escape while you are placing it under water.

I used a hairdryer to bend the top of the rigid tubing. After awhile, the soft airline tubing would bend blocking flow. Make sense?
