RU i TOTALLY agree , T.O didnt really do anything horrible this year and there werent tyo many distractions other than what the media made.
The only reasonable distraction was the Overdose.. and it really didnt distract anybody.
The media will make a mountain from a molehill with anything TO. Its called OWENSITUS.
For somebody that was such a horrible teamate I sure didnt here anybody complaining about him.
The biggest distraction in Dallas this year was Bledsoe-Romo-Tuna.
Tuna became a distraction within himself.
I will be happy to see TO in a cowboys uniform next year. 28 NFL teams wish they could say the same.
Im waiting to see whol TO is going to call out within the coaching staff. Or maybe he was fronting to make the media look like fools..... 50 bucks says that if he wasnt fronting its Parcells

I'd much rather have an "arse" that leads the league in receiving td's than have to watch those jiggling man-boobs!!
If i had to spend 1 more game watching those massive jugs disgracing us on the sidelines i was gonna FREAK OUT!!!
Man-ziere or the Bro, BUY EITHER ONE BILL and retain a tiny shred of dignity when appearing in public

Actually, that would be 29 teams. 29 because there's 32 in the league and the 49ers and the Eagles already know all too well what Dallas and their fans will experience soon enough. Season after next, it will be 28 teams that wish they had him . . . couple more seasons, 27 . . . then 26 . . . 25 . . .
Maybe it was Parcells that kept "Uh-O" in check. Or maybe Owens was waiting, knowing Parcells was soon to leave and he'd have his way . . . then we'll see how loved he is in Big D.
Funny how things change, did all you Cowboy fans adore Owens a few years ago when he danced on the star when he was wearing red and gold?

No, we have all said we hated Owens and many of us still do. No more than i hated Parcells, Keyshawn, Glenn, testaverde and others Bill brought in. Unfortunately, in the NFL today with player movement, sooner or later someone you hate will be on your team. At least TO led the league in receiving td's so that certainly makes it go down easier. He is still a very good receiver and ANY team in the NFL would kill for his talent if the baggage didnt come along with it.
By the way, not sure but Oceanists was probably also counting Baltimore. Last i heard they still werent to happy with TO refusing to honor the trade. So that would make 28 other teams

Yeah, everything is Jerry's fault

I guess Parcells was his puppet boy, right. Jimmy Johnson also, right? Switzer was his only puppet, he learned from that mistake and all the others were good coaches(at least at the time). No matter what he does people bad mouth him because they dont like him. When the Cowboys do something good it was all the coaches call, when we do something bad the coaches are Jerrys "puppet boy".
Our problems have nothing to do with o-line and defensive backfield i guess??? I guess all these subpar o-linemen were all Jerry's call. Probably was all Jerry's idea to bring in Testaverde and then Bledsoe to be our starters, given Jerry's extensive history with those guys. Parcells just did whatever Jerry said and was his little puppet. Poor Parcells having to put up with that

isnt that why Jimmy left... so youre saying that Campo and Gailey werent puppets??? why is Jerry down on the field during key situations when all other owners and/or GMs up in their luxury boxes??? Jerry is the current GM is he not???

He's also the owner. If he wants to go on the field , he can whever he wants. Jimmy left because his ego was even bigger than Jerry's and he wanted 100% complete control(we saw how well that worked in Miami
).
People give Jimmy all the credit but he was nearly as good as his staff. We werent great because of Jimmy, we were great because we had Norv Turner, Wannestedt, Butch Davis, Dave Campo, Avezzano and others. Ask Jimmy who he wanted to draft instead of Emmitt
Jimmy was dying to trade up and take James Francis because he loved fast lb's and thought emmitt was too slow. Jerry wouldn't let him trade up and he and Turner talked him into going with Emmitt. If The great Jimmy had his way we would have had a worthless bum and 0 titles instead of Emmitt and 3 rings

More or less... Look how many coaches we've gone through. Jerry hires em, and fires em.
The coaching issues are directly his responsibility.

Yeah, i GUARANTEE that 4 years ago you were saying what a genius move it was to bring in Parcells and give him control. 4 years later, all Parcells did was bring in jet and Pats rejects and waste a ton of picks. Maybe Bill wouldnt have had to retire if he didnt waste so many picks. This year he passed on Marcus Mcneil who we desperately needed to get his ex players kid at LB(our least needed position) and he could barely make the field, Mcneil is starring on a GREAT o-line! 3 years ago we took Jacob Rodgers and Stephen Pederman in the 2nd and 3rd round and NEITHER of those ever stepped foot on the field(didnt need 2 decent o-linemen this year, nope). 4th rounder on Skyler Green this year, barely stepped on field after being cut numerous times. If we had decent players at those picks, this year could have been vastly different.
Jones gave him complete control and he almost completely wasted it with alot of bad picks and terrible free agent moves. Somehow all Jerrys fault. Like i said, when its bad, all Jerry fault, when its good somehow Jerry gets no credit even though the coach is just his puppet. Too bad Parcells had all those moves forced on him by Jones. Weird a guy like Parcells would just be Jerrys puppet for 4 years. What a joke! Jerry gave Parcells complete control, which everyone said was genius and now hes not only being blamed somehow for Parcells leaving but all parcells failures were moves really made by the puppetmaster not Parcells

So what do I get when that guarantee is false? That strikes me as crazy to say you can "guarantee" what I was saying 4 years ago.
What I was actually saying when Parcells was brought here was "I wonder how long he will last" and "There's no way Jones is ever going to give up control of his
team to a coach".
I've never been a Jones fan. Not when he came here and pulled all his crap, not when the Cowboys were winning, and now not when they are losing.

hmmm... very debatable since Jerry wanted to hold onto Herschel Walker... besides what have the coaches you mentioned done on their own... it is also debateable that they could have sone what they did with a back that wasnt emmitt... but we will never know so what is there to debate actually...
Jimmy did what he could in Miami and assembled a solid defensive core with Zach, J T, Surtain and Madison... i think that Marino hindered more than helped JJ out... not to mention lack of a running game... he got out while the getting was good IMO to not be the one who ran Marino out... and now we are blessed with looking at his hair every sunday during football season...

So you are saying you didnt think Parcells was a good hire? I dont believe that for 1 second. I didnt hear 1 person anywhere who didnt think Parcells was a great hire, NOT ONE. Jones did give up control unless you are seriously trying to say Parcells was his puppet. No chance!
Jones did whatever Parcells wanted. Vinny and then Bledsoe were 1000000% all Parcells. Think Jerry was the one drooling over Rob Carpenters kid even though we didnt need a lb in the 1st round this year? Parcells had complete control over the draft and all player personnel moves.
By the way, that "crap" Jerry pulled won us 3 titles we never would have had with Landry. The "crap" Parcells pulled(cutting EMMITT because he didnt want any starpower in the lockerroom to challenge him and replacing him with worthless Hambrick) won us absolutely NOTHING

32. 49ers
31. Ravens
30. Eagles
29. Cowboys (have him)
Makes 28 teams in the league that wish they could say TO would be in their uniform.
Thanks for the correction though.

Got out while the getting was good?!?!!? We are still laughing about his last game down here. He lost 62-7 to the jags in the playoffs!!! :scared: Hardly getting out while the getting was good, they practically laughed him outta town.
Exactly, none are great coaches on their own. Together they were the best coaching staff ever put together arguably. Jimmy was hardly a genius, i still have the article from the sun-sentinel the day after the 98 draft where they questioned him passing on Moss despite desperately needing a wr. He cockily told the media how they got a better, taller and faster receiver than Randy(Jimmy said he was all espn highlight hype) in the 4th round. That receivers name??? Larry Shannon. Google that name and compare career stats to Randy Moss.
To minimize what Emmitt did and act like we might have been the same team without the great running, scoring, catching, blocking and locker room presence of Emmitt is nothing but leftover envy from the Cowboys titles. At absolute worst one of the 5 best rb's ever and arguably 1,2 or 3. That not something you replace very easily or just go out and get another in the next draft. Alot of people are hyped to be once in a lifetime players, Emmitt actually was and a great guy and teammate to boot. Zero titles without emmitt, zero! Not that we wouldnt have been darn good, but no way we beat those SF teams without Emmitt. He dominated the 92 game when it mattered most, and no not running thru huge holes like he always supposedly did. Breaking tackles to get huge first downs that won us the game!

LMAO

Little late for that after 10 responses but i guess when you cant refute facts, its a good last resort!

Weird, a few months ago Ricky Bell and Carnell were "great" running backs but Emmitt in his prime was easily replaceable

Too bad your little friend still too busy crying to join in
