Another broken promise.
The Immaculate one promised no tax increases at all for those making less than $250,000.
Then he passes a tobbacco tax.
The press looks the other way.

Really?

That tax has nothing to do with income, you gotta be kiddin me. If they don't want to pay it, they don't buy tobacco, and it hits all income brackets the same.

But it is a tax increase and a very regressive tax.

His High Immaculateness pledged no taxes for those making less than $250000. Most smokers make less than that, so he incresaef taxes on those he pledged not to.
Income tax is not the only form of taxation we suffer

This is getting worse than I feared. The President of the United States kneeling down and kissing Europe's butt. What a disgrace.
So now Europe's "leaders" get a vote on how we regulate our economy? Just swell.

DoHS just defined "Right Wing" groups:
"U) Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and
adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups),
and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or
rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a
single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration."
Funny the 10th Amendment clearly gives The States many rights over the Federal Gov't. I guess if you believe the Constitution is the law of the land, then ( as it relates to the 10th Amendment) then you are on the "watch list".

Texas Governor Rick Perry today backed a resolution put forth in the state House by rep. Brandon Creighton in support of state's rights according to the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
Perry said: "I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state. That is why I am here today to express my unwavering support for efforts all across the country to reaffirm the states' rights affirmed by the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I believe that returning to the letter and spirit of the U.S. Constitution and its essential 10th Amendment will free our state from undue regulations, and ultimately strengthen our Union."
God Bless Texas

So I need something explained to me. I just can't seem to wrap my mind around it....
Setting the scene:
I'm conservative, and I generally vote republican.
My good friend is liberal, and votes straight ticket.
Dilemmas:
1. Why I asked him about the crashing of the stock market coinciding with the nomination and election of Obama, he said, "how could one man have that affect on the economy, and plus he's only been in office a few months. Its amazing [sarcasm] that he hasn't fixed the economy yet."
Now things are leveling out, and his response? "See I told you Obama's policy would fix it."

2. During Bush's years, all I heard was global warming this, global warming that. All very negative and obviously the fault of industry, carbon emissions, human carbon footprint.
Now, with Obama, its "global climate change." Again..

3. When Bush was in, all he complained about what how much debt Bush was putting the country into.
How much in rescue plans from Obama was paid out? How much was his budget for? Now all I hear from him is that we're not spending enough money. And once again....

...................
Can anyone explain???
