Really? About 7 months ago you were saying that he hadn't done anything in the senate, but now he was responsible for much
of what Bush signed?
Isnt a vote of present instead of ya or nay equivalent to a plus to the Bush Admin?

There is a difference, imo between the experience needed to be the chief executive of the united states. And some joker in congress who voted for stuff, and spent the rest of the time campaigning. Then when he is elected prez now can somehow say he had nothing to do with the same things he voted for.
Eerily similar to him saying abortion is above his pay grade, while voting to allow abortionists to kill a live born baby.

I don't disagree with either of you, I was just pointing out the irony. Plus, as you have both pointed out, if the Reps had actually put a worthwhile candidate up for election, Obama would not have won....unfortunately none of the Republican candidates wanted to go against the previous administration and thus were labeled a third term....
It was a tough situation to be in with such an unpopular prez, and really highlights why we need a multi-party system to emerge and split up the oligarchy of the 2 powers that be.... Where's the free market???
I think its funny that "Obama" still comes up as a misspelled word.

Can you imagine the political wheel and dealing if we had 3 or 4 parties. You think 2 parties are bad... Nothing would ever be done. Although not that it would necessarily be a bad thing.

A vote of "present" means you have no backbone or convictions. It also tells me you are still waiting to see which way to spin it for your own political motivations.

The dems all ran on closing Gitmo. Now, it's "not in my backyard".
The dems ran on "talking" with Iran, now they have a short range ballistic missile.
Obama said Bush military tribunals are bad, yet he continues them.
Now that's "change" for you.

I will be interested to see how the Ossiah and his media chums try to blame Bush after we are hit again. At this point we are in danger of being hit again because of the current administration's scatterbrained policies regarding terrorists. I just heard Obama complain that there are terrorist in gitmo who have spent "years in legal limbo". WTH? We have these people who's home countries don't want back and wont accept
back but this idiot currently taking up space at the white house is concerned about there rights? We captured them on the battle field. Many who were previously released were recaptured on the battle field again yet OhBooba wants to give them a lawyer and allow them to clog up our court system. If Obama truly thinks allowing these people to utilize our courts doesn't open the door to them being released on US soil he is too naive to be President. GOD HELP US!

The Pope and Nancy Pelosi are on the same stage in front of a huge crowd. The speaker and His Holiness, however, have seen it all before..
To make it a little more interesting, the speaker says to the Pope, "Did You know that with just one little wave of my hand I can make every Democrat in the crowd go wild?"
He doubts it, so she shows him. Sure enough, the wave elicits rapture and cheering from every Democrat in the crowd. Gradually, the cheering subsides.
The Pope, not wanting to be out done by such a level of arrogance, considers what he could do. "That was impressive, the Pope says, "But did you know that with just one little wave of MY hand I can make EVERY person in the crowd go crazy with joy? This joy will not be a momentary display like that of your subjects, but will go deep into their hearts, and they will forever speak of this day and rejoice."
Pelosi seriously doubts this, and says so.. "One little wave of your hand and all people will rejoice forever? Show me."
So the Pope slapped her.

Woa, I agree that the CEO's that are stealing money or being dishonest should pay, but people and corporations that are honest should not be punished because they are successful by having to pay more taxes! The governement should not be giving out any bailouts to private companies and increasing our national debt. If your company cannot make it then you should fold. I don't care who it is. The government is getting involved in stuff that it should not have its nose in. What about the housing market that was causing the downward fall of the economy? That was all started by Dems. wanting everyone to be able to buy a house and giving people loans they could not afford by agreeing to back the loans up if they fell through. Well guess what, they are falling through in droves right now. You can't fix the economy by charging people more taxes, it doesn't work, didn't work in the past and not going to work in the future. Stop taxing the wealthy so much since they are the ones that own businesses and employee people. If they were not taxed so much they could afford to open more busineesses, employ more people, and get more people paying their "fair share" of the taxes.
+1 you need to look a few years back at reagan and his economics... what we should be doing is giving the small buisness tax breaks insted of hiking them up... by giving them tax breaks it opens up more jobs and keeps the money in our economy... cut taxes and cut spending that is all you need to do... not spend money you dont have on programs you do not need... When he was campaigning (and i voted for Barack Obama because i was caught up in the "Yes we can" and the media crush on him... and actually believed he would do what he claimed when he was in power) he told the american people that he would go line by line on the bugdet and cut any uncessary programs... well answer me this why is he trying to push through this uncessary health care reform? WE DO NOT NEED IT!!! we have been without it for our 200+ years and have survived but all of a sudden now Barack gets some power and decides that NOW IS THE TIME FOR REFORM!!! Why I ask you??? why is now the time when we are in the biggest depression since the late 30's early 40's why is now suddenly the perfect time to spend money we dont have on things we dont necessarily need?? The answer is because he is scared... he is now starting to see that all his plans are not working and is trying to push through all of his ideas before people realized that what he is doing is failing... When unemployment is at 9.4% (Largest since the early 80's) and still falling, it is not the time to spend spend spend
thats my piece

wont say too much here cos obama is the CIC (and my boss), but i will just say that the magical land of free health care isnt what its cracked up to be.
since i am active duty, i get "free" health care via tricare. its nice cos i dont pay a dime, but its a PAIN in the neck to get anything taken care of. case and point, i broke my ribs last week during hand to hand combat training. i thought the ribs were just bruised, and took the pain. finally went to get them checked, had to go through the medics, then the clinic. waited at the clinic for over 4 hours while my ribs and abs were making me see stars.
i just want to know where is the money going to come from? i agree healthcare is jacked up, but the current system needs to be fixed. i think that americans are so quick to sue (which has helped drive the costs of healthcare b/c of insurance) and the healthcare insurance (acutally insurance companies in general) have made it so expensive. so doctors/hospitals do need to be held acountable for wrongdoings, but with some type of limitations for the amount for the payouts. and the insurance companies need to be held in check as well.
thats just my thoughts on it

in 6 short months he has begun to restore our good name in the world especially in the middle east. the stock market has seen a steady rise ( dipped a bit in the last 2 days) since his inauguration. his approval rating is record setting, he's saying all the right things and implementing the plans and idea's he promised.
this is AWESOME! a president who can actually do what he said he was gonna do and do it with intelligence, dignity, and respect. his plate is filled with problems both foreign and domestic and yet he glides through all of the issues and offer's REAL solutions. when speaking of the Palestine/Israel conflict he said the only solution is a two state solution. guess what the Israeli president for the 1st time in history agreed! Gitmo closed! (closing) said! done!. he's the Kobe or Le-Bron of presidents, lol.
i LOVE this guy! he's forcing bad business men out of our major industries and companies and holding people accountable for there bad practices. he's gonna change the way we think about energy, health care, and education while promoting peace and tolerance around the globe. and he'll go full go after the REAL bad guys hiding in Kashmer. he's a bad a__ M F'er!
Barrack ROCKS!!!!
