Crimzy you are the smartest person i know but you left a few people off that list(add:Jimmy Carter, Al Gore,Joe Biden)LMAO Joe Biden as far as i can tell with the addition of his latest slip of the lip ,should be running McCains campain.
I can't really disagree with your admissions to the stupid politicians list. However I would hesitate to put someone on there because they have some verbal slip-ups. Those, IMO, will happen to everyone if you listen long enough and don't really reflect intellect.... you should hear some of the nonsense I spew in court on a regular basis.

As far as intelligence, Obama is Intelligent, hell anyone holding major political office must be.
BUt I will say this, Intelligence and wisdom (common sense) do not go hand in hand always. I will take wisdom over intelligence any day...unfortunately I see very few in Washington with wisdom.
I once knew a guy that went to Harvard. Very intelligent guy. He was the owner of a company I worked for years ago. Very good with numbers and science. But very short in the common sense department. He would have me run trial runs on jobs without ever changing parameters over and over. Basically throwing money away because he felt his scientific numbers should work. It did'nt but instead of stopping he would spend weeks and thousands of dollars trying again.....Common sense tells you in business, if it doesn't work twice in a row, it isn't going to work often enough to be profitable....but because of his degree and intelligence he was sure it eventually should. No common sense.
The question is not intelligence, but wisdom.....wisdom is the capability to admit you are wrong and to see mistakes, even sometimes avoiding those mistakes beforehand. Unfortunately I do not believe Obama has this ability.
Common sense dictates this country does not spend money it does not have.....

people.
Confused. Are you saying in parts of Harlem, Atlanta, Detriot, New Orleans, and now I guess Houston, me as a white, nothing would happen. When in actualality, the best I could hope are some inappropiate slurs?

There's where that logic is flawed, how can you good to for all
people, by forcing people to vote for one candidate, merely because that candidate is different, and quote unquote "hasn't had their turn yet?" Common sense would say that the best candidate should win, and forcing blacks to 'vote black' is dead wrong. If they think Obama's the best candidate based on his policies fine, but if everyone wasn't so blinded that republicians are everything evil,
, they'd see more of their believes are quite similiar.

Who is forcing anyone to vote? And what is flawed is McCain's campaign... If your own campaign says if we continue to talk about the issues than we will loose... so lets smear the other guy.... What does that lead me to believe or any other sane person?
As far as you being in the wrong place at the wrong time... that is just a lack of common sense... you maybe a victim of a crime of opportunity.... if you look out of place than people will take advantage of that... But some will say that I can't drive in certain parts of the country either at certain times... but whats the point? What does this have to do with this election and Powell?

"I stand before you tonight as an African-American," The Times quoted Powell as telling the audience. "Many people say to me, 'You became secretary of state of the USA., is it really necessary to say you are an African-American, or that you are black?' And I say, 'Yes,' so that we can remind our children. It took a lot of people struggling to bring me to this point in history. I didn't just drop out of the sky. People came from my continent in chains. There's no reason a new Africa can't be created right here and now.
Going by what Powell said, I took it as he literally wants to start a 'New Africa' in America, and wants isolation for Blacks. I have always understood that America was a 'melting pot.' Obviously some wacko Black Confederacy, is not what I want....

You literally said "alse claims of reverse racism." Me, not being to drive down a certain part of a street in the US, without hearing some nasty term referring to the color of my skin, is
an example of reverse racism, I thought? Just trying to get things straight here....

I haven't read further down to see if anyone has commented but think about this...
This guy was the top lawyer in the country when he came out of Harvard... could have had any job in America... at a very lucrative salary... what did he do?

If these are your interpretations of what Powell is saying... or means ... than something is wrong ... and its not with what Powell said.

I wish people would open their eyes and see the McCain campaign strategy for what it is...

For someone with all the education to become "Top Lawyer"
Obama never did a lot as a lawyer except help Rezko with some of his slums.

Worked with Acorn when... and to what extent? In regards to Rezko... did nothing wrong or had any implication of wrong doing... as opposed to the McCains and Keatings...
Served on a board with Ayers with both democrats and republicans and prominent education figures such as Presidents of Northwestern, Univ of Illinois, and the a board was put together by prominent repubulicans...
Has Acorn been found guilty of anything? There is a Republican organization that has been found guilty of voter fraud...
Its obvious who has already made their decisons... I encourage those that have not to look at these associations for what they are, and not for what they are played up to be... The McCain campaign is a campaign of divisive politics, with no solutions to the problems we face, and no plan for the future... Like the campaign it will be a see as we go administration... or a reactive administration instead of a proactive admin that has a clear plan and direction.
If you want to see how the candidates will run the country... look at how they run their campaigns.
