OK, so today I bought this product called "Microbe-Life Special Blend" because of another outbreak of algae all over the place.. The store employee said that they use it in their tanks often, and it significantly helps with keeping their water clean and clear, as well as algae control. She explained it as it reduces the bad stuff, and adds good stuff in the tank.
I added this stuff, and then turkey basted all of the sand, the glass, and the rocks.
What do you think? Anyone?

ehh it may slow it down or stop it but dosent keep it away! You have to take care of the problem! You know? Kinda attack the source! Is it cyano, HA, dino???? Sry cant remember!
Keep up on the TB.... u skim?
Do weekly water changes at 10% if possible!
How is the flow in ur tank?
personally i dont use any of the crap in the bottles or i try not to! I dont think 75% of that stuff they sell "helps"....

UPDATE:
I got 3 Blue Reef Chromis and 2 Emerald Crabs to assist with the HA problem. I talked to the Fish Store Owner, and he said that having starter fish in my tank will deffinately assist in cycling the tank along with a CUC. I told him that I have the snails and hermit crabs, but they are having trouble keeping up with the GHA problem that I'm having. He suggested that I continue to use the Microbe-Lite Special Blend, as it has the right bacteria for cycling, and using natural life (Chromis') will also help as well. He suggested the Emerald crabs will eat the GHA like something fierce also.
"Larry, Moe, and Curly"....Woooo wooooo woooooo wooooo woooo...Nyuck Nyuck Nyuck Nyuck

I just figured out how to use my Macros on my camera. "Where's Waldo?"

I've heard of some folks getting somewhat positive results from adding bacteria boosters in their tanks. The key however, is to find and eliminate, as much as possible, the source of the excess nutrients. Most everyone goes through the dreaded HA phase, you will get through it too.
The emerald crabs will help a bit, but most of the CUC I've had will only eat HA if it has been trimmed down in length a bit. I would have to scrub the rock with a tank-dedicated toothbrush to knock the HA down a bit so the CUC could handle it. I would run a HOB power filter while scrubbing to pick up the pieces of HA in the water.
We used to have 4 Green Chromis that were named Eeny, Meeny, Miney and Moe. Yours have good names too!
Two of those fish look to me more like Green Chromis than Blue Reef Chromis, but it may just be the picture...
Good luck with the HA, keep us informed.

+1 on the chromis....they look like blue-greens and not blue reefs!
HA is a bi***!
Mexi-turbos are the best thing imo for it!

Yea, they look green, or blue, or even purple, depending on the way the light hits them.
I tried turkey basting the aquarium, but the emerald crabs weren't having it. Almost all the HA I tooth brushed off the rocks, and sucked up into the baster, they attacked it and stole straight from the baster and devoured it up in a matter of seconds......lol
Why don't they do this when they're just sitting there? They just leisurely just stroll along and make eating gestures with their claws and mouths, but as soon as I took the initiative to remove it on my own, they hated it and showed me who's boss......lol

no on the UV IMO.....yeah it kills bacteria....BUT it can not decipher between the good or the bad...so it kills it all

I ordered a phosphate reactor, and an Aquaripure filter to battle my GHA. I have a ton of it growing and the sea hare is straving...how is that possible?

That Aquaripure guy makes me fall asleep. I'm not joking. I watched his ads on youtube right before I went to bed. He reminds me of that old "Dinosaur Man" on Mrs. Doubtfire.
And as for the phospan reactor, I may get one, I'm not too sure yet.

They guy may be a bore but the product isn't.....I had a nitrate problem with my 90g....I got the Aquaripure filter...now the water quality is perfect, not a drop of algae...I have to feed my algae eaters sheets. So with the GHA taking over the tank, I decided to get another one for the 30g. I will loose my macro algae but it's a small price to pay.

OPEN QUESTION---Are my Emerald Crabs Dead, or Just Molted????????
I bought 2 Emerald Crabs about a week ago, and today, I noticed one crab on it's back, and the other one just sitting on a rock, both lifeless. I then noticed the one lying on it's back had a flap on it's stomach, and the other one, no flap.
I took them out to inspect them, to see if they were just shells from molting. The one with the flap, lifeless, smelled like crab legs at Red Lobster, and the other did not smell at all. I then noticed upon inspection, that the one WITHOUT the flap, his top shell came off very easy, and it was hollow inside. The other one was kind of hollow inside, and still had some meat to it, but stunk like Red Lobster crab legs.
Here are pictures:
This is the one that DOESN'T smell, and as you can see, the top shell came off, and is hollow inside

This one DID smell, was lifeless, with the flap on it's stomach. It still had very little meat inside of it, but I think it was just dead.

im thinking those are just the molts! Most inverts when introduced to a tank will molt within a week or two! Still i could be wrong...hopefully not and u will see ur crabs in a few days. They wanna harden up before going out on more adventures!

I think you're right. I saw one crab just hiding in my LR, and when he saw me, I saw him scurry away. I hope the other one is ok too.

LIVE ROCK REQUEST
Does anyone have any live rock that they don't want anymore. I just started a new aquastructure, and I'm going to keep it this way this time. But I would want more live rock to stack up on top of what I already have. Here are some pictures of what I have so far:

And now after seeing all the algae, I'm going to try and clean it all up. TRY, being the keyword here. I don't know really how without it all going all over the place. I have a turkey baster, and a fine net, so wish me luck......lol

Dude, I did that already, twice. And it just grew back all over the place.....ARGH. I was reading up on Magnesium increases (slow increases) to solve the issue. I might try that.

once the seahare has demolished the algae...u should either take it back or sell it to a fellow hobbyist...otherwise it will starve
