I grew up in Huntington Beach back in the 60's and early 70's when Cal was still a great place to live. I got out in 92 and have never looked back. Too dang crowded for me. Now I make my sister meet us in Vegas for Thanksgiving. I have a religious objection to going any further west

I've been to Cali once, and well, once is enough. (although I would go back to chavez ravine) And I still want to see whatever they're calling where the giants play.

I drove through Texas once and I feel the same way. I hear the eastern part of the state is nicer but the parts I've seen, blaugh.

You should have detoured south through Big Sir before going north, that's sweet.
I can remember going from LA (actually orange country) to San Diego and there was a lot of open space. Now it's all one big city except for tha marine base

Texas has a different kind of beauty. It is more subtle. Kinda like beer, it is an acquired taste. But if you drove the drive it takes to get from colorado to texas. Well the panhandle is just openness...

Souther California is beautiful. (can't speak about the rest cause I haven't seen it) If you don't think so, you we in all the wrong places. You really need to head to the shorelines.
I totally miss Corpus. When you're driving down Ocean Drive, the view is really nice.

Looked at 2 yesterday. Going to do a drive by on 2 today....
The problem is community wide. People want for their houses the prices they could have sold them for a few years back. Every house is overpriced. Yes, way cheaper than they were, but people are resisting selling them for what they are now really worth.

Depending on how long its been on the market and how bad they want to sell, you'd be surprised. They have probably seen contracts/offers come through and said "no way", but when more come in with similar offers they will get the hint.
I say, if you really like one of them and you have a clean contract to offer....go for it.

good luck!!

Right now the market is being stubborn. Peeps are also hearing that things are starting to uptrend to they are thinking they may hold out for a bit more and then sell for what they want.
There's lots of short sales going on, but I'm not ready to go that route just yet.

hopefully the banks won't start this ugly process all over again. They are the ones allowing people to buy over priced houses to people that shouldn't be buying them. Most buyers have time on their side, most sellers don't. Patience grasshopper.......

I'm living with boxes, tanks that need to be fixed and multiple things that need to be installed that are quite the inconvenience....
I've now looked at all the matching houses in the areas I'm interested in. Now it's just a matter of checking the new listings everyday and see when that "good one" pops up.
