we have a bunch, some close, some within 10 miles. You are pretty isolated, I am a "city girl". I lived with my dad for a few years in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virgina. The guy on the next property ran moon shine....no joke. I had to put chains on my car once I got off of the highway to get to the house after school. I couldn't get back "home" to pavement fast enough.

Basically I'm paying for perfect weather.... I don't know if it's worth it.

for that price, I say NO! (don't get me wrong, I love great weather all the time) The leaves change here, and it snows and I hate it. But there are many other places to live for half that price. But picking up and moving is easier said than done I know that for a fact.

Yes, my LFS options are titillating to say the least. We actually group our "trips" into routes. Each route contains LFSs in the same general area about 6 in some areas, more in others.
Actually, the house prices ARE worth it after all!.

If you are gonna move anyway.....what's the difference whether it is a block or a state away.....LOL

If all the kids were out, and especially if they weren't local, then maybe a different state... maybe. Greg is a true California raised Venice Beach boy. I think he would die if you took his Pacific ocean away.

Heck I paid less than 55K for my 1500 SQ ft house yeah it has no basement. OH well means that 300-450 gallon tank will fit so nice without going THRU THE FLOOR.

I don't move well, had to, too many times in my life. Thinking about packing and moving makes me short of breath and break into a total flop sweat!

No basement? Where do you keep the wine? Where do you put the washer and dryer? Where do you put the pool table?

WEll some people don't want to talk about major health problems with their kids, hits too close to home you know...

K, 2 fun houses today. Took the parallel street to the house we went to look at. Looked kindda scary. Saw a heavily tatted guy with his pants down to his knees leaning into the window of a very beat up car stopped in the middle of the street..... oh-oh. Then I saw a gang sign.... outta there.
On the way to see the next one we see a LAPD 'copter overhead. There is literally 20 cop cars stopped in the middle of the other lane with the Po po behind their open doors with guns drawn... literally there was that many. Car ahead with someone face down on the pavement. Cops just kept pouring in from everywhere... outta there. Next zip code.
There are some nice huge gated communities with nice security... but the lack of back yard Dood.... I need a backyard.
I dunno, I"m living in a 2000 sq ft house, I'll sell you for 150k. Has mature oaks, fig trees, grape fruit trees, in the old money neighborhood. New roof, and AC unit. All tile floors...
And it is 5 minutes from the Bay...

None here either

I never understood that, I used to live in N Texas, every night during the spring the tornado sirens would go off. And yet no one had a stinking basement... Go figure. I guess they like to gamble...

who'd want to be in a basement when an EQ hits? i guess the next of kin could save on the cost of a burial plot tho...

to be honest, living here is WAY overpriced, but besides nice weather and being able to get pretty much anything you want no matter what time of year it is, my whole family is here. i was this close >< to moving to HI at one time tho...
oh...and the #1 reason? EXCELLENT MEXICAN FOOD...
