next thing i need is lights. I was also thinking about goign for a skimmer...or do i even really need one? It doesnt seem like my little filter is doing enough :p. I only plan on having maybe 2 fish at the most and some inverts. Emerald crab soon also im hoping :]
Also, With my featherduster is there anything i need to put in the tank since i dont have much in there? I read that they need phytoplankton or somthing like that? Anyone know?

you need ph buffer to get it between 8.2-8.3 if you want your coral(if you get them), to be happy. You should stop putting things into it while it is cycling, it's really unhealthy for them. They may do fine, but it affects them in the long run... also, you can feed the feather duster phytonplankton twice a week, but not too much, otherwise you can make your tank go back into cycle. just mix some with some water from the tank and feed it to him gently with a turkey baster.
good luck :)

well you really dont need a skimmer. IMO as long as you do the proper water changes your good. also yea you have to mouth feed the duster with Phytoplankton so it can grow

Yeah once i saw it was cycling i diddnt plan on putting anything else in it for a while but this was too good of a deal considering live rock runs $8 a pound out here and most livestock is $20+ So when he offered me that chunk of LR for $20 and the featherduster for $10 i had to :p. And im going out today to look for phytoplankton and PH buffer! I hope its not expensive.....
$52 for my lights
So Im hopping i can buy my lights and my tank will be done cycling by the beginning of december.

Yeah, the feathe duster ought to be fine, they are super hardy, but be sure not to add anything else until those levels hit zero

and for the feather duster, you only need to feed phytoplankton like once or twice a month, they are filterfeeders, they will get nutrition out of your water.

Featherduster looks like its eating its feathers. Iv heard of this happening can it really do this? Iv been feeding it phytoplankton...

I feed it with a turkey baister! I mix a drop of the plankton with about a cup of water and spray it in about 2 inches away fromt he featherduster so the water flow takes it to him.
