So besides the sweetlips passing this last weekend. The tank is dong very well. My false percula clown seems to be ok with the tank to himself. He wanders ALOT, which is actually kind of fun to watch. H will never stay in the same place unless I'm in front of the tank, then he'll be right in front of me :)
In other news, I got furloughed at work today :( So I'm getting a 20% pay cut, in lieu of more people getting laid off. So its a good and bad thing in some respects. Unfortunatley thats alot of my hobby money. So I guess its a good thing I have a decent tank started and can just let it grow a bit )
One of my coworkers may have to get rid of his 75 w/ a 55 sump due to electricity purposes, I'll let ya guys know if he needs a home (I wouldn't be able to pick up the extra electricity now either)

So my tank is doing well. All inhabitants seems happy and healthy.
Here are some pictures taken with a better camera...

overhead shot of the tank

Corraline algae starting to grow on the back of the tank. Its a medium purple in real lighting.

Action shot! I changed my circulation around, everything seems to be enjoying the extra flow!

My lone fish, he seems happy enough though

A nice zoo colony

My majano problem. Mushroom next to majano. They did come on the rock together, and for about three weeks I just thought he was a bonus anemone. I need to address that soon.
Anyways, hope everyone is doing well.

Thanks, I'm finally content w/out buying anything new. I suppose it helps I've kind of seeded the tank throughout. Now just getta watch it grow :)

I have no idea, most LFS's don't seem to know what frags/colonies they are even selling. I tried to find them in the zoo thread but didn't come across the same kind. They are fairly thick compared to most of my other zoos.
Anyone else know what my green colony is in the second to last pic?

Isn't it absurd that some of these fish stores don't know what the hell they are even selling. It seems pretty basic that if you want to sell something you should at least know the name, and hey some info and advice on the species would be great. That is why I want to open up a fish store one day. Train and educate all employees and make sure they enunciate so that customers can understand them. Sorry for ranting but i'm sure you all know how frustrating a lfs can be.

So zoaid is a good place to look for names. You already know what they are, Zoanthid sp. I take it you are looking for the common name? So would you have been happier with your LFS employee if they told you that they are Radioactive Dragon Eyes, and charged you more money for some name someone has dreamed up for them? IDK just sayin. I hate those feel good special names that tend to jack up the prices.
Here is a pic from zoaid. Looks pretty much like yours I think.

Ah, so regardless of the color the scientific name is the same? Good to know. I suppose I was looking for a common name; I know they are kind of cliche, but I didn't realize they weren't standard in the reef community.
Anyways, thanks for the info spanko, I'll check zoaid from now on

So I did a 2.5 gallon water change last night and checked some of my parameters.
The pH is now staying at 8.2 seems like a good sign. My sailinity is still at 1.025, gonna check my ammonia and whatnot tomorrow probably.
I bought some Purple Tech by Kent Marine, seems to be similar to Purple up. It has calcium magnesium and Strontium. Gonna add a few drops a week. Need to get a test kit for those paramters.
Also got a six line wrasse today. He seems to be doing well. Will post pictures as I take some.

New pictures of my six line wrasse

Anybody know anything about that dark red algae you can see on the rock near the mushroom? It disapears overnight, either by getting eaten or I don't know, and it reappears everyday. Is this something I should be concerned about, or worry about spreading?

its on a small rock, so I can take it out, but will have to try and transplant the two mushrooms that came on the rock. Or just lose em?

yup, I'll take a picture later on today and it'll all be gone, then tomorrow it'll be fully back on the rock. WEIRD
Its nowhere else in the tank.

So I turkey bastered some of it off by sucking it up, then decided to take the rock out of the tank and sprayed the rest off with some tank water into the sink. It all came off, and I put the rock back in the tank. Now I'll wait and see what happens. It appeared to be similar to what is described as cyano.

Sounds like it...It does come back quick, but disappearing on its own is what I find wierd
I have to manually remove mine /
