With a 180 you should be able to use your existing stand, but that 205 gallon would almost make up for all the trouble you're going through

It's a good thing that you had a little heads up, and a little time to prepare and remove everything. A tank that just decides to burst emptying out instantly...now that's a tragedy. Switching it all over...it sure is a lot of work.

The guy I use to deal with in Texarkana just happened to have one coming in tomorrow
He will bring it to me + sand + more salt + the plumbing and help set it up
I will pay him of course....LOL.....I am thinking this will cost about $1500 INCLUDING the set up
OH WELL.....I won't be buying any new shoes for a while :(

All in all, that's not bad. You will love a RR setup. Much simpler way of getting water to the sump and back.
Who need shoes anyways. lol

I think you will like the 180 much better. It would be my preference, at least, to a 225.

Hey, I just thought of something. I would strongly recommend leaving the DT fallow after you put in the corals and rock. You never QT'ed the fish and they are going to be stressed from the tank switches. IMO, this spells a recipe for disease. I would QT them for a bit.
The reason I thought if this is I have a friend that went through this and he lost 90% of his fish. I would hate for the same thing to happen to you.

For as long as I have had these fish, you really think they could get something now?????
These fish are way too big to leave in this tote.....the vlamingi is about 8" now...if not bigger

IDK....I have had these fish a long time.....surely if they were gonna get something they would have by now
anyway they are too big for the tote......the vlamingi is a minimum of 8"...and the sailfin is pretty close to that

What are the thoughts of using the new tank as a temporary QT?? Idk if it would even work. Just thinking out loud here.
Might be a good idea to have a plan if you just flip everything.

If you have most of your old water at least 50% same live rock same fish you should be fine! I would recommend using Startsmart it works great! I got 5 DT tanks if I decide to move a fish from one tank to another I just trap & put him in the other tank! Never lost one doing that! Just like you put your in the tote for a couple of days! Use a air stone if you have one they should be fine!
