Yep "A" abd "B" both have the cutouts on the same side...and "dump" into the same chamber
And "adjusting" the baffles 1/8" or 1/4" one way or the other won't affect the opperation....
Moving them 3" will but you shouldn't have to do that...

That sounds good squidd. I have a much bigger problem with my tank right now so it will be later before I can go into more detail on sump/fuge.

Ok squidd, D,E measurments I'm having a little problem with. Are the measurements
7" and the 3" are they from outside to outside?
I was able to mark the glass for the rest of the peices but these two are my hardest.

"D" should be 7" from front edge to match the cutouts of "A" and "B"
Then "E" can be 2 3/4" leaving 7 3/4" for the return pump chamber...

so finally I got the other problems settled out on the tank. Just so everyone understands what happened to us in the last few days. Our pair of clowns came down with brooklynella at the same time our tang came down with a nasty case of ich.
But so far all is good and we can get back to baffling.

I will attach a picture that shows the baffling taped in place and maybe tonight after kids are in bed we will silicone everything in place. Hopfully.

Does the cross bracing need to stay on. It broke off and we glued it but I want to make sure that we do need it and it's not going to get into the way.

So water comes in at "C" then under?over "C"?
Fills the skimmer chamber "B" on one side?
I'm lost........

Baffle "A" if siliconed in properly (I'm sure it will be) will take the place of the above tank plastic trim brace...
You have plenty of strength (more than the plastic brace provided) with the baffle across the center...
My fuge is 50" across and the baffles help hold it together as well...

Ok, SO!!
water comes from the MT through the plumbing that leads to "C" as "C" fills the water goes under "C" and fills up "F" area. Ounce "F" area is filled to the top that will spill over to "B" then fills up and spills into "D". As water comes fills "D" it goes under "E" then fills up the "E" chamber.............
THEN were does the water go? Is there another plumbing to take the water back to the tank or does it do a reverse......
Now to the FUge area. There will be plumbing in the fuge to take water to the main tank correct but not a return? :D

>>> "E" chamber is where the return pump goes...I believe we were talking Mag 18 there...That gets pumped OTT into the tank...<<<

>>> Water is split from overflow some to overflow chamber..some to fuge...From fuge over "A" ...over "D" ...under "E" to Mag... to tank...<<<

What a very very very looooonnnngggg thread! But it was worth all three night I've spent reading it. (I've jumped to other places of wisdom ppl have mentioned here, and then came back) The only thing I've done so far is commit myself to wanting a SW aquarium. So I'm in full research mode right now, and this has really got me thinking/planning ahead for what I want in the end result. Squidd, you are one patient, knowledgeable person! 2 things hard to find in 1 person! I'll be tagging along for the remaining 2 or three pages (who am I kidding, possibly another 15!
because I plan on setting up a 90 to 125gl myself.
Hats off to everyone for all this info!!

450rguy, Yes this has turned out to be a very long thread. But without this thread I would of "NEVER" been able to set up the 120g correctly anyway. Everyone has helped me so much and I really do appreciate it. I hope one day I can help someone else the same way or close to the same way.

You have already helped out Leona. I was trying to find out more information about refugiums and stumbled across this thread when it was a mere 3 or 4 pages long... Now I feel confident that I know what I am doing to set up my 145. I even answered someone else's question in another thread starting with "Thanks to Squidd and Leona I know the answer..." :)
