Whats uP, eXCELLENT new aquascape. I really like it. Great job :) Keep up the good work. And very happy to hear you saved your six line. My clowns do that all the time and i will come back the next mornin and find em in the back. But thankfully nothing bad has happened to them :) They just freak out for about a few hours after they back in tank. HAHA. But hey ACANS ARE AWESOME and i really think you would love em. Very different corals to have if you can find em :) Keep up the good work

Thanks everyone for the comments, they are appreciated. I am running stock lights for the time being. Eventually I want to find a 16.5 " sunpod, but since they don't manufacture them anymore I will have to find it used
Keep the comments coming

SUCCESS!!!
After about an hour of hunting my yellowtail damsel I finally got him. I am relieved, I really wasn't having any trouble with him but I didn't want him long term anyhow. In retrospect I never should have got him, but the gf kinda talked me into it
Anyway he will be going back to lfs tomorrow! I had grown to like him, but the onyx clown pair I want is $160. and I don't need a $3. fish stressing them out. So now it is just my sixline wrasse and a lot of rock, oh well

Yeah, it was frustrating but I was gonna sit there all night if I had to. Happy I caught him. This is my party dance

Nothing new really going on, trying to save some dough to feed the addiction
I am thinking that next I would like to add maybe a head or two of frogspawn, any thoughts on this??

Well I just got home and found that my actinic bulb is no longer working. I finally got the number to the warranty department and spoke with Nick. He was very helpful and said it was most likely the ballast that went bad. He said he would send one to me right away. So far they have been great in dealing with, hopefully I get the part soon, and the light will be fixed.

Yeah I am sure it will be an easy fix, the lights aren't really that complicated. Looking forward to getting it in though because it just doesn't look the same without the actinic bulb.

Hey subi ,
just catching up an you'r thread. I had a clown jump the wall and went into the pump chamber
I was looking at the tank one day and noticed the pump not running , I thought it burned out . Seemed strange b/c the tank is only 7mo's old. Well I stuck my hand down the chamber and felt something slimy on the pump....pulled it out and ...NEMO !!!!
his dead little body was blocking the pump from working
very sad!
The next thing i noticed ,was you said you have LR rubble in the fuge? well I have LR rubble in my HOB wet/dry and I gotta tell you I am sorry i do!! it has caused my nitrates to hit the roof! see all the debri that falls off the rock collects and causes a huge spike! I removed all the rock and siphoned out all the junk , of course I placed the rock back so i don't end up with another cycle , but I am slowly replacing the rock with good ol bio balls. I did allot od reading on this and I found the bio balls easier to maintain JMO
If/when you get a spike in nitrites look to the rubble first as the cause. I know most here dont like the bio balls but they are widely used here in LFS's and in the Chicago Shed Aquarium. Seems to work for them so what the heck? this is like the 3rd time this week I find myself talking about bio balls , you would think I was selling them or something

P.S. the aqua scape looks good :)

Thanks for the comments guys
Nwydr- I was wondering if I should put the rubble in the back or not, I guess I will keep it until there is a problem. Hopefully it will not become a problem of course, but if something does spike on me at least I know where to look. Thanks for the heads up though.
Blazin- I am actually away for a couple days, have the gf topping off the tank
I will post pics when I get home, it is probably covered in algae though so it might not be too pretty
Oh well nothing a water change and some routine maintenance can't take care of.
As far as the ballast goes, it has not arrived yet, I only called yesterday so probably a few more days. I am really itching to get some more stuff in the tank but I know I have to be patient and work with what I got right now

I had my ballast go out with my actintic to as well in my bio. Guess it happens to everyone or something...
... When I emailed them I didnt need a reciept or any proof of purchase they just sent another one. Nice customer service to work with. Which is why I will continue to buy the Oceanic Nanos!

Ok, just got home. The ballast was at home waiting for me. Put it back together and we are in business
Tank looks pretty good for being away a couple days. I just tested the water and everything is good. I am going to be doing a water change later than I will take some new pics
