GAH they cut the smaller ones too large, but the 14x11-3/4" are perfect :)

will do. i'm still trying to figure out how to suspend the baffles while the silicone dries. probably use a 2x4 or something.
i was thinking about maybe making a stand out of 3/4" pvc with an eggcrate top for the skimmer
one other thing that i want to do is make a screen preventing chaeto from flowing into my return pump area. the darn stuff already gets all over my return pump. I guess i'd have to do something in a plastic or cloth mesh small enough to prevent chaeto, but big enough to allow pods to go through.
what the heck did i get myself into LOL :scared:

yes, but the small strands that go up and over drive me nuts in my current set up.

got some :) am taking pics :)
btw, for a stand i got 2 1" pvc tees, 2 street 90's and will make a table out of the eggcrate. of course, now its the "how the heck do i keep these baffles up straight" phase. there's about a 1/8" gap on the glass, is that going to be an issue where i should put something down below the suspended baffles?
omg!!! i just figured out a way to keep the baffles in the air and make them level while siliconing!! eggcrate to the rescue

until this darn thing is done, i'm gonna have so many "should i" things going through my head.
latest: I figure i should have gotten tinted glass to keep the fuge lights in the fuge and prevent algae growth throughout the sump. should i do anything to my baffles? paint them, or leave them clear?

got the first two baffles siliconed in and drying right now.
word of advice to future people... do the middle baffle first. very hard to silicone inbetween baffles...

the two baffles are in there nice and tight. i ran into yet another thing i would never have thought about. how do you silicone the inside of the third baffle? my arms arent 1-1/2" thin...

I left a little extra space when I got my baffles cut so I could wedge the silicone through to the other side. You might try attaching some tubing to the end of the silicone's nozzle or using a syringe.

i was wondering if the extra space was good enough to squeeze through. i think i have about 1/8" space on either side of the baffle for the silicone, so i'll just squeeze a tad harder :)

I even tried running a bead before I slid the baffles in and that worked too. It was learn as you go with that project.
