So I am looking more for a system like yours that will make water changes easier instead of what I am doing now. I have the pumps and I can make anything, it is just the shut off for the water that I need to make idiot-proof, or as I in our house, Scott-proof.

OMG
That was my biggest fear....waking up and finding my basement has turned into a new swimming pool. Well, at the very least, it would cause major water damage.

BTW Sweet Tank

Actually, that's a very good tactic yukon. I looked at ways to do this, but I have no lower drain in the floor in this room. My only option was to use the third rubber tub that I bought, which I might still drill the overflow drain line and do this. My motivation will probably be when the first time comes that my 'pvc ring trick' fails and I have my first spill. I like your setup

Hey...I just want to come see all of your tanks and setup. I already have a mental note that if I am anywhere headed in that direction, I'm giving you a heads up. Most of all, I want to see them babies

As far as plumbing goes, you will see coming up soon, in the chiller setup part of this, that I am definately no plumber. I had a few problems to say the least......

Here's a recent incident/story of how the ole' ring trick is NOT always a good idea....
Last weekend, I attended a relative's birthday party (sit down dinner with maybe 75 people in attendance). I noticed from the start that I was getting an unusual amount of looks, especially from all of the females (most of whom I had never met in my life). This continued all evening. I thought a couple of times, 'wow...maybe it's me, got it going on tonight, lookin' good'.
Well on my way out, headed to the car, I notice my Big A**, white PVC pipe
ring
on my finger. I had forgotten to put it in my pocket. My manhood just took a swan dive in the lagoon. OMG...this is what all these people were looking at. What the heck was I thinking. Then I thought, maybe they just thought it was a new stylish trend, I mean I did see the teenagers paying especially close attention. But no...I am now probably known as the backwoods moron who adorns himself with plumbing supplies

Oh great!!! I am going to be sitting on a plane today, think about your story and start giggling and not be able to stop. Ho[pefully I won't start giggling in the airport and have security take me into a back room for questioning. "You see there is this saltwater site......."

You were probably the coolest under 20 year old there, once I gave my then girlfriend (now fiance) a black rubber oring (and a good one too) and she wore it for years until I bought her a diamond ring. Go figure I was just joking.

Yes as a matter of fact I did. Fortunately I brought a hardcover book that I could hide behind.

So we have seen most of your tank build. I still want to see pictures of your tank now, when it is stocked, doing what fish tanks do. Not a box full of water, but real honest to goodness living things in your tank.

haha, what a great story. You need to make sure to wear it again whenever you see anyone that was at the party.

Yeah, I intend to get back on this thread. There's not a lot more to cover, so I will pick it back up soon. I am still trying to get used to this new swf.com layout. I don't navigate into all of the categories anymore, but I knew this one had fallen 8 or 10 pages back.

LOL when I had freshwater I had a blue lobster.........I thought my ex- husband was going to kill me when he found out I bought it, and it was one of the coolest things in the tank. He was mad because it cost $25. And then it proceeded to eat everything in the tank LOL. I wonder what he would think about me spending $50 for a fish? Or more? hmmmm....

Dude...it's good to see somebody is still awake tonight. I was just about to log off because the boards are so dead tonight (and dead lately for that matter).
I'm still pulling some pics of the chiller addition to put up soon, but after that I'll put up some recent full shot pics. Plus, this delay is giving me some time to keep adding stuff. I finally just got my Powder Blue and Yellow out of QT and into the DT. I still really need some more corals to fill this thing out though.
