The tank looks great Krista!
Any secrets to the success of your elegance? I can not keep one alive to save my life!
I bought it off another reefer who has kept it alive for 6 years. I do not mess with it at all. I try to keep it away from the rocks. I also try to keep it as far away as possible from other corals. This elegance will move frag plugs if they get too close. It was neat to see it move a zoa frag I had in the sand bed.

Uh oh!!! I think my luck with the elegance maybe jinxed. There was some chemical warfare today since my sebae decided to spread onto the elegance.

Do you run carbon? Does the coral look damaged at all?
Filter has fresh carbon in it. The coral looks ticked off. I will know more tomorrow, since it is closing up for the night and I can't see if it is damaged. I'll be able to tell tomorrow. This coral opens like clockwork so I should be able to tell before I go to work.

Ugh, I have been dealing with cyano. To combat this, I did some intense cleaning today. I also swapped the optics on the LED's. I think the light looks a lot better on my tank with 100* optics. I also put in a DIY frag rack since I have some frags that I am testing in my tank.
Today's pic:

Looks like you cleaned it up pretty good, I don't see any cyano. Have you considered macroalgae or running a phosphate reactor to try and eat up some of the extra nutrients?

Thanks!!! I am going to order some chaeto or wait until I go to an upcoming frag swap and start using that again. The two main issues for the cyano problem is lack of water changes and poor flow in some areas of the tank. I am going to do better with this.

Poor water flow should be an easy fix. I attached a piece of PVC with a few holes drilled, capped on one end and attached it to a power head to create a vertical spray bar. I used grey plastic 1/2 conduit pipe.

I learned an important lesson today: Save those coral skeletons. I thought one of my acan frags was dead. The coral never opened and the skeleton was gray. I tossed the frag on the sand bed and forgot about it. Well, my anemone moved in to where the frag was. Somehow, the frag got moved up to the front of the tank. I saw the coral today and it was puffy. The coral is alive. I will post pics later when lights come on.

Thanks everyone!
Oh and the one frogspawn (the one with the bright tips) is the lemon lime frogspawn.

Thanks Al!!! I'm so excited that I can finally keep acans, zoas, and SPS. Granted, I did have to get rid of my favorite fish. Also, my clam has never been happier and the cyano I had been battling is gone.

Just now seeing this...WOW that tank sure has come a long way, huh?
Looks Great!
Is there any way to get a shot of that sun coral when it is out? Would love to see it.

You ask and you shall receive:

It's not the best pic. I will try spot feeding them tonight and take some more pics.
