Valid point and so do I, well the factory farm aspect of it. I do think the majority of US cattle farms, ranches, and cattle slaughter houses conduct their businesses in a humane way, though I am sure there are exceptions. I in fact come from a family who farms and harvests cows, pigs, and chickens. And I eat both meat and fish and in no way am I a vegetarian or am I against fishing or hunting. I'm actually a huge supporter of it as long as it is done so with the idea of sustainability and I think the DNR is doing a fine job executing that.
On another note, are cows one of the most intelligent animals on this planet? No. (though this is no away a reason to brutally and senselessly kill any animal)
Is the cow population in the US NOT able to be controlled by humans. No.
Is cow meat being labeled as other meat in attempts to cover up the fact that it is indeed beef? No.
Does ALL beef contain large amounts of mercury, in this case 2000 PPM (or other large amounts of known toxic elements) causing birth defects, body deformities, and mercury poisoning (or other poisoning)? No.
Is there a media blackout on how beef is caught and slaughtered? No.
Is the slaughter of cows (even if under humane circumstances) banned in any U.N. acknowledged country in the world (outside of religious reasons) other then in ONE country? No.
Is beef blamed falsely for the world wide decrease in fish population or other animal populations? No.
Is beef a meat that is seen as food that is NOT something that we should eat here in the United States? No.
YET ALL OF THESE THINGS CAN be answered YES when applied to the dolphin slaughter that is being conducted by the Japanese in Taiji, Japan and in other parts of the Pacific.
