Really!?! Wow! Did the triggers see people walking by as a threat or was it just to get their attention?

Tiffany, I can't wait to see your aquarium!! This may be a silly question but I have to ask....how in the world are you going to clean it or arrange things in it?? Even with a step ladder you'll probably have to submerge more then just your arm to reach things at the bottom (for moving rocks, coral, cleaning etc....)!

my trigger was just mad about being in a bucket.i have a 33 inch tall tank.i went and bought a ladder just for the tank cleaning.i can barely reach things on the bottom.i do know some here have tongs that reach the bottom easily.

Of course we all know that the goal is to keep our hands out of the tank as much as possible. Don't we???

Spanko, you are so right! I really need to work on keeping my hands out of there. I also need to get a longer set of aqua tongs. The ones I have now (I use them when I feed the fish) aren't long enough.
I try to keep my hands out of the tank as much as possible, but there are occasions where I do need to reach in there...
-to place some macro-algae under a rock to anchor it down
-when I used a turkey baster (to suck out what I thought might be cyano algae)
-to pluck out the macro-algae that sometimes gets stuck in the power heads
-when I'm using an algae pad or razor blade to clean the glass

I have a 30 in. tall tank and short arms. When I clean the tank I always try to go no further than just my arm. I am afraid that my deodorant could have a bad affect on the tank, I don't know if it would or wouldn't but I don't want to take the chance.

On sucking out the cyano if you use some type of tube or hose to siphon during a water change this will work to get the cyano.
On cleaning the glass I suggest you invest in a Magfloat or other magnetic glass cleaner.
