when things get outta hand I/some of us generally say we like pie and step out of the convo's. Kind of a way to lighten things up.

I am sorry for his family and the family of the perpetrator. Killing in defense of one's family, country or to stop a crime in progress is one thing, but cold-blooded murder like this is deploreable. I'm sure there's a Law and Order episode based on this coming soon.

lovethesea, I don't think religious folks agree with homocide either way. I can't imagine this getting hot. It is what it is: premeditated murder of a man. I hope this won't be a time to argue the merits of abortion. To make it that, either way, would demean the crime that was committed today. Two families grieve.

Why is everyone so afraid of this thread?

This is a clear cut case of cold blooded murder, in the First Degree. The perp should be tried as such, convicted, and sentenced. Regardless of previous experiences of the victim, this case has, and must, be judged on the current existing facts.

Justifiable Homicide IMHO
Tiller the Baby Killer murdered his last child .
