It makes for a good story and gives hope to all the great players buried at small colleges that do not get the press.
I have alreadsy gone on record staing I did not beleive he would prove to be a legitimate strating caliber QB in the nfl. The jury is still out as a few games does not make a great player. I certainly have no problems being wrong regarding ROmo.
Here is where I stated on THIS thread where I would like to see the guy do well.
Please follow the thread.

That statement hasnt been further than the truth for the last 4 games but you refuse to admit that. Admit that you may be wrong and that he has looked VERY good. You are ready to crown Eli as being the next savior and a future great and he has never had a better 4 game stretch.
I meant the fans when i said every one is scared, not teams. I would pray grown men arent "svcared" of the Cowboys but i assure you they are VERY worried.
I beleive the quote I already posted states I could be wrong...again...please follow the thread.

I am simply pointing out what most if not all nfl coaches will tell you..the three or four game tape rule.
I also beleive I stated it is Romo that must work on his game and continue to improve on any weakness or weaknesses he has. This way...he stays ahead of the game and those that wish to exploit any perceived weakness
Please follow what I say
How can i when it keeps changing? You said he wasnt NFL caliber yet he is 3-1 should be 4-0 and looks great. If you stink, you dont usually play great for 4 games then they figure you out. Leaf didnt have 4 good games in his whole career, neither have a TON of 1st round Qb's i could name.
You cant say that Romo isnt good and wont be good and then turn around and say that he can work on his game and stay ahead of DEFENSES THAT ARE DESIGNED TO STOP HIM and keep winning. If he is playing great and winning against defenses DESIGNED TO EXPLOIT HIS WEAKNESSES (which according to you they now are!) then he is much more than an NFL caliber starting QB and very well may be SPECIAL!

I am following and you arent making sense. You didnt say you might or could be wrong. You said you have no problems being wrong. BIG DIFFERENCE!
So lets clear it up, say once and for all that RIGHT NOW it looks like you were wrong and that RIGHT NOW Romo looks VERYGOOD. Those are the FACTS RIGHT NOW and cannot be disputed

Im confused Scuba

Here is the state of the Cowboys according to you;
1) Romo is not a NFL caliber QB
2)Terrell is at BEST an average receiver
3) Glenn is nothing special
4) Witten is not an upper tier TE
5)Our RB's arent anything special
and by anyones admission we have a suspect offensive line and the worst kicker in the league.
How exactly does Romo keep winning and looking so good under those circumstances? Exactly how many games does he have to win or how far do we have to get before he is "NFL caliber"?

You have to pove it over the long haul. Nothing wrong with average. I don;lt think I stated Glenn was nothing specail. I beleive I stated Witten fits well in the Dallas system but is not a top tier TE as far as strthcing the filed..but he is better suited for the Dallas scheme that the others I mentioned. Your running backs or contirbuting but have not accomplished much in the past. They are doing well THIS year.
You will eventually need a big kick from Vanderfoot....best of luck.

You are not following the thread but twisting what I say to fit your agenda
I will be leaving soon.
I'm sure all those Bucs fans are shaking in their seats.

I notice you still didnt admit that you may be wrong about Romo, just cant do it can yA?
What exactly is the long haul? How many games? Apparently Eli has proven this to you someohow though
Weird, probably isnt the name on his jersey though, hes shown how special he is on the field right?
I'm sure RU and the rest of the Bucs fans arent to hopeful about tommorrow. Sure they may win but the odds are WAY against them. Bucs fans are in the perfect position. If they win, they will jump up and down about their amazing victory(even though we supposedly arent very good
) and if they lose it will be "of course we lost, we stink and you guys are much better"

actually i am stoked about tomorrow... this is the first time the Bucs play on Thanksgiving... The Boys can bring the Turkey and the Bucs will provide the stuffin!!! i am also excited for the other 2 games, but the Chiefs vs. Broncos game should be a great one!!!
the only thing i will say about the game is that it should be good and should be a test for the Bucs banged up defense (the Bucs will be short 5 defensive starters since Wyms and Rice both went on IR today)...

Whether we win or lose, Its sure starting to look like the NFL is gonna need at least another week to figure out Romo.

I guess Romo still hasn't shown that he is a NFL caliber QB. He might break the single game record for td's today!

Oh my this game is turning into a joke.... romo has nothing more to prove in my book . Start calling him Troy
On a side note Happy Turkey Day to all!

Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Oceanists.
Romo played a great game. Despite playing the Buccs, who are hurting on defense, I have to say that Romo still looked very good. Next week's game will be very interesting to see how he does with the Giants (although, the Giants are pretty banged up too).

Anyone who says anything other than Romo is a big time NFL qb right now either doesnt know football or is just a Cowboy hater. The guy is literally playing better than ANY qb in the league even Peyton RIGHT NOW. Another day over 75% completion and thats with about 5 drops. He played as perfectly as any Qb possibly could today against supposedly a stout defense.
Until he starts playing bad there is no debate, Romo is one of the 3 best qbs in the league right now and the Cowboys are one of the 3 best teams in the league right now

HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS!!! :cheer:

Right now, I think the Cowboys are one of the best teams in the NFL. They are talented in all positions (except free safety, which I think they need to improve). Romo even makes the OL look better than they are. I am interested to see how Romo will play in Chicago, or New England, or Baltimore.

Romo has proved he can compete with the best and the worst, He is yet to have a game where his Passer rating is under 100.00 even with the loss against the Skins.
22-29 308 YDS 5 TD couldve easily had 6 if Parcells didnt have a heart and ran the score up on allready a dead issue.
Romo was so good even Joe Buck managed to say something positive about our Boys.

Wow, Lioncrazz, you deleted my post with the slightest amount of bragging?!?!?!?
I'm sure your gonna give me the same quote that we cant post something that may start an argument or is inciting right?
Hmmm. Weird. If that is the rule, then why did YOU start a thread saying that Irvin is ridiculous and still on drugs when you just shut down the EXACT thread last week???? :notsure: You knew for a fact that would start an argument and was inciting since we just had the same argument with you involved last week. Guess only you, Scuba and RU can do those posts.
If romo had 5 ints and the sucs won by 28, RU would be posting 10 times worse right now without it being deleted.
They spend a week badmouthing the guy and he has one of the all time great games and we cant even rub it in a little??? They sure would

I have already said before that the Cowboys should have won that Redskins game.
Emmitt, I have said it once, and I will say it again. Sarcastic remarks lead to bitter arguments which leads to name calling which leads to the thread closed. Everyone has already said that they would like the threads to stay open.
You can comment about how great Romo played without taking digs at others. And you cannot use the argument that they would have done it if Romo fell on his face. It did not happen, so you do not know what would have happened.
I started the Irvin thread because I could not believe that he said something as inaccurate as he did. I was not thinking that it would turn into the same argument, since that thread got closed a week prior. I also said that I was not even referring to his playing ability. Once it did, I closed it. End of story.

He literally played a PERFECT game. There were about 4-5 drops otherwise his numbers would have been even better! :scared: Wonder how many gm's would take him over Eli now?

He is so good, I am literally giddy about our future this year and beyond. If not for having to play in Chicago in late January, I would say we were heavy favorites for the Superbowl. Even without home field, we will be a VERY tough out. This season has gotten very interesting

I agree Lion. The deffinately need to work on the free safety there was one point where I was saying they needed to think about moving Row Williams to OLB with his ability to tackle and also earlier in the year he was showing signs of not being able to cover the deep ball.
Lion judging by your name I would think you have some knowledge about the Volitan Lionfish.
I have a 180 with 1 yellow tang, 1 maroon clown, 2 Saddleback Clowns, 1 Sleeper Goby, 1 Blue Devil Damsel, 1 Damino Damsel, 1 Cleaner shrimp, 1 Fire Shrimp, 1 Sand Sifting Star, 1 Serpeant Star , 1 Brittle Star. Various Shrooms, Button Polyps, Star Polyps, Crabs, Snails, a Feather Duster, and a Christmas Tree worm rock.
In you opinion would it be safe to add a Volitan Lion with this kind of stock?
