the same goes with the "champ" the lake champlaign monster. Even though it has never been found there is still a law protecting it.

yes, seriously. The state government of Vermont has put "Champ" on its Endangered Species List, making it illegal to catch, harm, harrase, or kill. Even though no one is sure it is in fact real.

Sounds like one of those goofy things local governments do to encourage tourism. I don't think anyone should take that seriously.

ok to answer some q's, it was that dark because i didnt use flash and it was during a t-storm, it cannot be a weather balloon becuz the lights wer individual and wouldnt always stay in formation, that was the best pic i could get of all of them and it happened to be in formation, upon closer inspection w/ some binoculars the lights wer not singular, they wer many that spun upon an orb shape, because they wer below the clouds they couldntve been too high, they seemed to be heading west in formation, whats interesting is when i watched them they would go about a mile and a half then stop and scatter, then reform and continue on

There is no noise in that photo.
Nice try. A better effort would have been a hubcap hanging from a tree limb.
That's not true; Unless the shutter speed is set very slow, you can get a pitch black picture from the camera.
However, I've never seen the night sky that dark before.

when I originally saw this at work, it was on a lower quality monitor. now that I'm at home, yeah, to me there's no doubt that it's fake. I'm no professional photographer, but I see no way you get a pic of lights shining that clearly without even the slightest hint of a star or cloud or something. it looks roughly to be the shape of the Transformers logo. so my theory is that you saw the movie and have now come up with this.

I bet if you opened that image in Photoshop and looked at the value of each pixel, there will be subtle signs of noise. Maybe 1 or 2 bits off but they will not all have the same RGB value.
The CMOS sensors in digital cameras don't work that way and even if they did, the jpeg compression would create an grid array of noise on its own.
Sharkboys photo's background is almost entirely 1 bit off of pure black, (R=1 G=1 B=1) with a hand full of 0 value pixels. (from the jpeg compression)
Plus if it was a very slow shutter speed, you would have streaks of lights, not clean dots.

Aztec, you may find "The Lost Realms: Book IV of the Earth Chronicles" by Zecharia Sitchin interesting. Look it up on Amazon....

It's an interesting photo.
If you zoom in you can see tiny lights other than the originals. I'm not a photo/paint pro so it could just be me...

Well, you obviously know a lot more about digital imaging than I do.
I'll get back to staring at my fishtank.
