Yesterday was the day, tore down my 37 and got the 50 up and running. It will be the future home to my bta's and ocellaris pair. It is looking good, still need to tweek the rockwork a bit. I am really loving the 250 HQI sunpod. Here it is this morning.

My fish and anemones are in temporary housing. They seem to be handling it alright.

All the live rock from the display is enough, the media bag is the activated charcoal from the old tank, I just stuck it in there, will refill it w/fresh when I make the transfer.
Do you mean the rock snake in the big tank?? I am embarassed to say that is a one leg from a pair of pantyhose, lol it is live rock from old tank so I can easily remove it later. I admit it looks pretty wierd but...

LOL, I did not even notice the rock snake. I saw all of the larger rock work! After reading your post I went back and looked. Had a good laugh! Great idea!

Someone suggested I should keep them and use them as legs for a creepy scarecrow next halloween. I have 2 but just put one in the tank. What do you think sound like a good idea?

It is sitting on the back porch, not really sure. I doubt I will use it for anything w/ all the scratches on the glass.

Update, the tank is crystal clear today. Yesterday I added 32 0s. Super Bac Nitrifying Bacteria. I am showing .25 amonia, not nitrite or nitrate yet. I added a couple blue leg hermits.

I attached my viper to the bucket w/anemones. I think they are going to be there for a while, might as well make them comfortable. I observed suspicious behavior. At first thought it was eliminating but the foot is rather spread out hmmm.... hope it's not splitting again. Time will tell.

Well, I guess as long as I have to. I have great lighting, a good protien skimmer going, 2 circulating pumps and loads of live rock. I am keeping an eye on the perameters. When you consider the alternative, this is a better place for them. I am sure the splits are from the stress of it all, trying to do all I can to eleviate as much as I can. I am going to check magnesuim, CA and KH in a little while.
BTW hows your bta doing??

I'm almost scared to say...LOL...but great...It shrunk down the other night and of course I thought it was dying...BUT I had fed it that morning and it was pooping..lol..in about 2 hrs it was back to normal...Of course it picked a spot That I would NOT have chosen, but it is at the top and i can see most of it...BUT IT'S ALIVE...YAYY

Just a suggestion instead of have two individual rock formations you might want to consider bridging across the top and making one formation

It looks like it's in a hole, can see it's foot through the rock, pretty cool. Congratulations, it looks good. They never stay where you want them but if it's getting light in it's chosen spot that's half the battle. How long has it been, 2 weeks? Very good indeed.

a week and a half...yeah that rock has a hole in it, so I can see the bottom part (foot) but it is actually a group of rocks it has settled into...hey as long as it's happy...now for the clowns..LOL..maybe they'll go to it eventually...I'd be so excited if they did.

Yeah, I was the same way. I had a very long wait with my ocellaris. Maroon and perc hosted much sooner. Can just sit and watch for hours, very entertaining.

That is what I have heard but from my experience that has not happened. In the wild, they must host or die so you'd think they all would but I know conditions in captivity are different. 1 maroon, 3 ocellaris and 1 perc, all hosted some just took longer. It is a good thing that your are not right now, gives your anemone a chance to settle in, some clowns are pretty rough on them. What kind of clowns do have again? I can't remember.
