What??? They're closed??

i feel like a grandpa when surfing these boards (compared to the influx of kids on here).
in my old 30 years, i can think of a couple of big stores that have closed.
the wiz
bambergers
bennigans
caldors
bradlees
treasure island
all these major stores that shriveled up and went away.
who else can you remember closing up?
who else do you think will close in the next, say 2-3 years?

Funny how they're mostly food chains.

I remember Bennigans because there was a thread about it a few weeks back. As far as the next 2-3 years, I'm going with Kmart (been in trouble for quite some time, and no way Sears can bail them out enough), Home Depot (Lowes has 'em beat, whether we want to admit it or not), and sadly, my local coffee shop, the Bridge Street Coffeehouse, who had the first drive through service of any in PA... Starbucks has invaded and there are 2 local coffeeshops, the other of which will definitely survive.

Toys'R'Us or KB toys, since about 95% of kids toys these days comes from Best Buy. The other 5% for Walmart.

3-D and Big Wheel, they were departments stores like k-mart.. i loved 3-D when i was a kid their toy dept was awesome.

They closed a HD in my area (Not to say they are slowing nationwide...just sayin'), but I know they are expanding quite a bit abroad...canada, china etc...
