But as far as being mesmirized from staring at a simulated ocean-like environment, I find fish, and lots of them, much more entertaining than a reef with sparce fish.

you can have just as many fish in a reef tank as you can in a FO tank, so that's not a viable argument

seriously if you can put a 50'' plasma in a 22 year olds house ..and a 125 reef in the SAME room...and people dont even notice the tv... you know you have a smoke'n hot tank.

someone post a picture of an SPS reef with like 500 watts of MH and we can end this.
On the other hand, if you are the kinda guy that jsut wants to sit and watch his puffer eat snails all day and feed goldfish to your lionfish, then maybe FO is for you.
I always thought of FO and freshwater tanks kind of in the same league.
But then again, sharks are awesome, and you need to do a lot more water testing than your typical FO tank...

PIPEFISH!
Pipefish tanks beat out those other stupid tanks!
FO tanks. You continue to house specimens that could never find pipefish in a seagrass bed! Sharks are jsut too stupid to see these masters of disguise!
Reef tanks. Pipefish Are actually fast enough to get away from those scary "not reef safe" fish. Oh NOOOOOOOOOOO its a big mean old camelback shrimp! Let's all wet our pants and stay perfectly still!
Seahorse tanks. True, seahorse tanks are the best....almost! Darth, I know you have cb! all you have to do is drop in a frozen cube every day. And to raise the fry....oooooh, soooooo hard, you have to hatch BBS...
.... whaaaaaaaa.
Now pipefish ARE the best! it takes the most intelligence to run these tanks! You have to hatch BBS daily, or do the actual hard work of training them to frozen, unlike you others who get the breeder to do all that hard work for you! And to raise the babies, you have to raise rotifers, when was the last time that you raised rotifers darth, wait....let me re-phrase.... When was the last time you had to raise rotifers continuosly for 2 months!

When I first joined Northwest, I was based in Minneapolis. There was an old LFS there that had two banded pipefish eating frozen mysis. Feeding time was very impressive. Sorry, off topic. Back to the thread....

Yeah, it's totally gay to spend 40 dollars on a coral just to turn around after it has grown,k to frag it repeatedly and let IT pay for our tanks. I thought it was an investment, but now I know...it's gay.
Please...that WOULD come from a FO mind.
I bought a pom pom for 40 bucks. every two weeks...yes EVERY two weeks, I return the overgrowth and get 20 dollars. Thus far that one single coral has bought my new bulbs, replaced all but one of my powerheads, and has given me the oppertunity to get any coral I want that that store sells.
I won't even MENTION what my blue tort can return!!

any one that can keep an octopus succesfully is better than fo/ reef/ seahorse/ or pipefish

not saying that i have, but im gunna do it one day. OCTOPUS' that takes skill

Phhhhhh.... octopi are easy compared to pipefish! besides octopi only live a year!
