McCaskill is the incumbent Senator from Missouri. The RNC was hoping to win this seat in order to add 1 of the 4 seats needed to take control of the Senate. Before Akin stuck his foot in his mouth, he had a 5 point lead in the polls. Why wouldn't she encourage him to stay in? That's the way politics are handled when you're trying to get re-elected. Take any advantage you can get. Dirty politics are played every day. I've been listening to the garbage for the last year and a half.

I don't get why people are all worked up about his, the keynote speaker at the democrat convention, and the person introducing the sitting President at the democrat convention was accused of rape by multiple woman.
And their patriarch Ted Kennedy rented out an entire hotel filled it with hookers on an official trip to south America...

Kennedy's discretions in no way compare to this guy's view where he's esentially desensitizing a vile act on a woman. People sit around and complain about high unemployment, illegal immigrants, and a crappy economy, yet the RNC announced that one of their major platforms at their convention next week is to call for an amendment where life begins at conception, and essentially abolish abortion altogether regardless if the woman gets pregnant by rape or incest. Their priorities on social issues is completely skewed. They bolster the ideologies of "less governemnt", yet want the government involved in an individual's personal choices regarding abortion or same sex marriages. Next they'll want to abolish the 22nd Amendment and turn us all into teetotallers. Just like you want the governmemt to stay out of your decisions on healthcare, I have no interest in a government that tries to dictate an individuals personal choices regarding what they can or can't do with their body, or what relationships they choose to have.

Science in this country returned to the dark ages. This guy is so ignorant of basic human biology and tries to justify his political ideology with made up science. Yea, GeriDoc, that is scary.
And, I agree that Reps scream less government, all along trying to insert the religious ideology of part of their base in to social and personal matters that they should remain out of. They talk plenty, but don't really practice what they breech in terms of a less government in this country. (The Bush Adm. is a great example of that.) And, they also have more to concern themselves with right now then overturning Roe vs Wade or gay marriage.

Ted Kennedy left his girlfriend to die and called his father before notifying police several hours later DUIing his car into the drink at Chappaquitic (SP?) That in addition to all the cheating on multiple wives

Charles Rangle, while being the head of the committee that creates tax policy was guilty of tax evasion.

I'm sorry, personal indescretions and circumventing tax laws are completely opposite from some dirt bag triviakizing the rape of a woman. That's not only reprehensible, but sick. The individuals you referenced were already in office, and indirectly or directly paid for their mistakes. If he can rationalize something like this to be 'normal', then what other social policies would he advocate if he got into office? Polticians with that type of control and power have no business using their personal agendas or moral beliefs to legislate policy and create laws that fall within the tenets of those beliefs. Just look at the Summer Olympics where you had that Saudi female judo contestant that almost was denied her chance to compete because they didn't want to allow her to wear her hijab face covering while in the competition. Saudi law forbids women to show their faces or other body parts in public. Would that be considered extreme in regards to US law? Allow the federal government to dictate social law, and it may not be as far-fetched as you think.

Bionic I asked my Wife who BTW is a Survivor of the crime of RAPE when she was in Colledge what HER thinking is on Akin is. Her answer was Short and TO THE POINT I may not like the Answer he gave for that question however at least he sticks to his Guns more often that any Polictian we have in this area. Here in IL we have had people Steal Millions from Taxpayers and OH WELL no Biggie becuase they are Democrats. But because this man is a Conservative who wants to get rid of a Democrat in Missouri lord help us for having a SPINE and making the Person that DID the CRIME PAY HIS VICTIM FOR WHAT HE CREATED if one was Created.
Lets look at a Keynote Speaker at the DNC convention a woman that is Bragging about needing 3K a Year in Birth Control they are Pandering to EVERY Group there is to Stay in Power. Yet here is a Man that has a Spine he Made a Comment that was bad yet if this was Joe Biden it would have been Swept under the Rug by now. The MSM needs to keep this in the News to show how Biased they are against the values that MADE AMERICA STRONG.

The individuals listed were re elected after their indiscretions were revealed. If a person can rationalize cheating on their taxes, sobering up before reporting the wreck that killed your mistress or cheating on your wife, and later kinky sex with a subordinate employee how is that not as bad as trivializing rape?

One thing that partially explains the guy's comment was earlier this year the justice department redefined rape. The new definition includes someone who is drunk or high so it's questionable if they were in a state of mind to consent. That's a little scary. I personally never did this but know plenty of people who have woke up next to someone they didn't know after a long night at the bar.

I think the arguement of "well, 'they' did XYZ" only makes your arguement weaker. IMO it should not matter what a liberal leader does when discussing a Republican representative.

Hey I ain't defending what this clown did. Just saying he has a lot of company when it comes to questionable judgement by people in powerful positions and despite what Bionic said just as bad or worse than what this guy did. At least Republicans tend to act when one of their own messes up. Senator Larry, Congressman Foley and this clown all were rightfully tossed under the bus the minute their indiscretions were disclosed.

You'd think so but I am not so sure. What happened to Bill Clinton I think was the perfect solution. Impeachment is about what is right for the country and putting Algore in charge wouldn't have been a good thing but Clinton's misdeed was forever made part of the public record. But to this day you have Democrats claiming it was about sex when in fact it was about perjury by the president of the United States. The media never corrects that spin. There is another case going on right now regarding a Democrat official and a 17 year old boy. I doubt that gets a fraction of the media time this will.

Saying that a woman can ward of pregnancy by willing it away after a rape is considered having values? You have one warped perception of what values are. Who was the Lousiana moron that was a known KKK member that ran for Governor that time.
