I believe that religions are used by evil men to commit atrocities. However, that is not saying there aren't good values in life that can't be taken from a religion and applied or that all believers are evil.
I just don't go for the Argumentum ad baculum approach.

Free will I suppose? I think blasphemy is unforgiveable according to Christian doctrine (Matthew 12:31-32). Sorry but you will be going to hell for this, no takebacks.
I guess if God was able to control us we would be living in an ant farm.

its a belief based on faith
Okay, I'll restate my question, although in the colloquial sense, religion is a beliefe based on faith.
Why makes people so sure their belief based on faith (religion) is the one true belief based on faith/religion?
Although, dictionary.com says otherwise:
re·li·gion
1.a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.
2.a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects

Well if it gave us free will, then how can it send us to hell for making our own choices?

We may define faith as a firm belief in something for which there is not evidence. Where there is evidence, no one speaks of faith. We only speak of faith when we wish to substitute emotion for evidence. - Bertrand Russell

I WOULD SAY THE DICTIONARY IS CORRECT
PEOPLE OFTEN MISTAKE CHRISTIANITY AS A RELIGION

We are not in a competition to become the most loving or tolerant religion. Tolerance in general really isn't even that biblical. But love is very biblical. And we are commanded to love the Lord our God with all of our strength, spirit, mind, and soul. And to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.
WELL PUT

I still don't see how it isn't a religion. I see the belief part and I also see the rules and tradition part. Explain how it isn't a religion, please.

According to Matthew 5.22 anger is a sin...
But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca,' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.

:notsure: Since religious belief is based on faith. Im not sure it can be explained in a language a human can understand. Its difficult to explain concepts such as sweet or salty, hot or cold, wet or dry. These are things best understood by experience. Same for faith I suppose, it cannot be explained, it must be experienced.
