when i first got my tank up and running 2 years ago i got about 10 lbs. of live sand and a couple of rocks from a lady that was selling her tank and equipment. it had all kinds of coepods amphipods microstars and lots of bristle worms they did a very good job at keeping all my sand and rocks...
i think these fish came on some live rock i bought from the LFS but i really don't know how they survived i don't know what they are but this is what i can tell you the eat flake food and pieces of seaweed that my tangs rip off they are no bigger than a small damsel they don't bother my corals...
i just wanted to say that i lost all my fish to ick about a month ago i tried kick ick and then hypo to try save them sadly they all parished i just baught new fish from SWF.com and low and behold my powder brown came down with ick after four days and he had it bad i went to the lfs and baught...
i told him all he pros and cons of the different setups and he chose to go with a setup a lot like mine ( reef + inverts + tangs + well you get the idea) anyway i think he also wants a lot of stars as well. i will tell him that the tank needs to be drilled also. btw i am an alabama fan...
a friend of ming is building a larg auarium ( around300 gallons) to start off with no small tank for him lol. anyway i ony have a 75 gal. with over the side filtration and skimmer . i suggested to him to wait an buying the equipmet till i could ask you guys and gals what would be best and where...
oops forgot to mention but i think you might already know. you need to do this in a tank with no inverts or corals. just the fish and maybe a little liverock to make them feel a little more homey.
