    Pink sponge

I turned over a piece of my LR and there is a big patce of pink sponge growing on the bottom. Will the light kill the sponge or will it be ok and keep growing on the top side facing my tank lights?

My LFS said that it was probably some kind of fungus and that they can rid themselves of it with good health and nutrition.

My false perc is losing color on his front white stripe. It almost looks like a flesh colored patch where the white is gone. I will try to get a pic in a few minutes, but I want to know if anyone has any idea what could be wrong with him. He is acting normal and eating fine. Any help would be...

    turbo snail behavior

Snails are very sensitive to salinity changes and must be drip acclimated for a long time prior to adding them to the tank. But they will eventually die or dissapear and you will find yourself in the middle of a never ending battle to keep snails in your tanks as you lose them to death or crabs. HTH

    Quick question!

Inverts do not add much to your bioload so they do not apply to the inch per gallon rule. Also that rule is going to vary depending on your setup. Could be more or less depending on your water quality, and space.

    trouble with skunk cleaner shrimp

It will be fine in a fully cycled tank. Leave him in there and let the cleanup crew do their work.

    some more questions

baffles are used to cause the water to go over and under them before returning the water to the tank. The purpose is to calm the water before it reaches your return pump to prevent bubbles from getting pumped into your main tank.

That design would give you a sump/refugium. But remember that a sump is only for putting your equipment. Some people even keep it as simple as using a rubbermaid container with an overflow from your tank and a powerhead for return.
