Today I noticed on one of my saddlebacks has popeye. He was being chased recently by his partner and I think the eye was injured that way. My water quality appears fine

I used Southdown sand in my 92 gallon. No problems. Tank is over a year old and sand has no doubt become live. From what i have read and heard to save some money use Southdown and just a few pounds of LS to seed. Works great.
I am so glad I found this board before i even attempted to set up my tank. Fortunately I have a LFS that is excellent and helped me tremendously. Close to a year now that my tank has been set up. Other then a loss of a cleaner shrimp or 2 and a clown I have had no problems. Research and more...
Kip I saw that oceanic salt. I heard it dissolves almost instantly. Does it have the same makeup as instant ocean? And do you still have to age the water before a change when using oceanic or can you use it right away after mixng it with RO?DI water. And isalnd from what i have researched IMO...
Hi everybody!!! Been away from the board for a while just busy but anyway. Last night I was making the rounds of my LFS and I was in the right place at the right time. My LFS had just gotten a shipment of aqua cultured maxima clams beautiful blues. He said he was overstocked so I got 2 two and a...
Go to home depot. Buy yourself some egg crate. its the plastic shield that goes over flourescent lights. Buy yourself some of that and cut it to the dimensions of your tank. Then put your deep sand bed on top. This wzy if any burrowing critters get under your rocks and they displace. Doesn't...
You might be able to add another clown if its smaller then the first. I agree with rearranging the rock. You could also try acclimating him in one of those convalescent containers in full view of the other clown. this way they may get used to each other before full release into the tank.
When I acclimate my fish I have my full daylight turned off and just my actinic going. From what I have read you could stress the fish by putting him into a dark unfamiliar tank.Lower light no problems. IMO
Tenecor has a web site. Explains all the pricing and tanks. Also will give you dealers near you. One disadvantage with acrylic tanks is you look at them wrong and they scratch. Very had to repair if at all if tank gets scratched. They have also been known to yellow over time. Just my opinion.
IMO wait. Maybe ask if you can pay for the fish and let them hold them to you get back. I know my LFS does that. This way when you get back you can give them all the attention they need by keeping a close eye on things.
