I have the same problem, and I found an easy solution....get a new skimmer. I wish someone had told me about the seaclones before i spent 75 dollars on one.

or you could save yourself the hassle and just buy one. I've got a cpr cs90 (600 gph) I'm willing to sell.

From what I've read/heard, you should'nt put a ball valve on the return line itself; instead put a pvc "t" on the return line followed by a piece of pvc pipe leading back into the sump and on that piece of pvc pipe you can install your ball valve. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I just bought a mag7 as well, however I haven't set it up yet. Can I connect the pump both in-line (I take it this means outside) as well as sit inside the sump (submersed) without damaging the pump?
