    Jebo Lighting ...GRRR

I have one a similiar one and I had to unscrew and remove the endcap and add the feet. It didn't sit very high and ultimately I sunk two sheet rock bolts in the ceiling and used Spiderwire fishing wire to suspend it. Looks great. The metal is really soft so don't over tighten the screws. A lot...

    Mandarian Dragon jumped the tank.

They are s l o w, and I've never seen her move more than 4 inches at a time. I saw a setup the other day where a guy wrapped gutter mesh around the top of the tank, making the sides about 6" higher as an alternative to covering the tank. I'm thinking of doing that to prevent my turbo snails...

Has anyone else lost a MD do to the "Great-Leap-of-Death"? I'm gonna check my parameters tonight and see if they are off. But in the...

    Coral Beauty Rubbing against rockwork

I think my Coral Beauty is sick. I first observed him hanging out with my Coral Banded Shrimp and thought, awe look at that, they’ve paired up. But I noticed that the coral beauty actually turns into the shrimp exposing his side so I thought, oh, he must think the shrimps a cleaner shrimp. The...

    i thought zoos grew fast?

If you haven't done a water change for two months then you have no trace minerals left in the water. That's why they are not growing. Not to be a jerk, but since you are sick and on SS you should really consider what's more important to you, your health or the tanks health.

    Coral Banded Shrimp feeding

They eat mostly at night. If you have a well established tank he will be fine. They like worms, bristle worms and such. Feather dusters are worms and I hear that some CB will clean them out. I haven't had a problem with that.

A friend of mine said he used Galveston Texas beach water and if you can use that crap you can surely use Florida water. Where exactly do you live? I want to Google earth your beach! You can also see what kind of run off you might get and avoid those areas.

    DIY Live Rocks

Quikcrete has Lime and limestone in it which raises the PH of the rock and eventually your tank. That’s why it needs to be “cured” in freshwater before it goes in your tank. If you can find it, Thorite by Thoro does not use lime or limestone and is consisted reef safe. I have heard of very...

best place to buy a new tank?

It won’t be a new tank, but the best place to get a tank is from your local reef club. At least two or three times a month a member at my club is selling a complete setup for the price of a new tank. I am sure this is the case for most clubs. Ex. Number 1 - Member downgrading to a nano from a 55...

    Coralife Light with Moon Light

As a fisherman I can tell you that you don't want to go fishing around a full moon because fish tend to feed all day AND all night since they can see. So if you have any predator fish or shrimp, then they might have the tendency to seek out some food, ie snails or other sleeping fish when your...
