If i have live sand in my tank, How do i do a water change without messing up the sand in the water?

Mine that i will be building, If i'm not doing any fragging, i don't need the 1st part correct? About fragging, Do you know if there is any threads for biginners on this topic? I Have a design of my project here, but the file is to big and i dont know how to resize it.. But i'll find a way later on

A sump of how many gal would be reccomended for my 180 Gal Aquarium? In your refugium what do u have in it? I c it is devided in half, have a light on top, etc
