There are also guides online to how you can use a razor to split anemones by force, but I think that procedure is usually pretty high-risk. After some thought, if I were you, I'd just wait to get a smaller anemone. I pulled out a ruler and yeah... 10-12 in is HUGE... lol.

Early morning now... it has perked up significantly! Opaque brown, tentacles inflated and looking "excited"... Gosh these things scare me.

Our BTA is limp and stuff is coming out of its mouth. Mouth is now open... still limp. Pics coming in a couple minutes.

It does have sentimental value to us :( Especially me. But I'm afraid we're running out of time. The BTA is not looking so good.

We had this same problem... our sand was really clouding our tank but we just ended up changing our filter a couple times and within a couple days it was settled. But yeah.... we rinsed it SO many times before putting it in the aquarium and it still released this milky powder.
