It depends on what works for you. I have been using Chemi Pure in high doses and only change about 5 gallons in a 75 gallon tank once a month. It is a fish only system and pretty crowded by most standards. A clown trigger....tomato clown....blue damsel.....yellow tang and a small wrasse.

How do the hermits do in a fish only tank? Should they be introduced after the cycle? Do they have special feeding requirements or are scavengers?

Unfortunately I started cyscling my tank before I found this great site. My Tank is cycling and ammonia is rising. Is the ammonia or the nitrite phase more stressful on the fish? Thanks

Just got back from the dealer he would only take the clown trigger and tomato back on consignment only. He will give me half of whatever he sells them for. Still looking for a home before the ammonia gets too high.
