    determining flow rate w/ T's and 90's

Why dont you run the right side return as a straight pipe and T-out for the left return? This way you have one side with great flow and one side with slower flow, could make some interesting water movement. The pipe that connects the T and the left return can be used for lots of other things, if...

    Sump/fuge overflow and return pump

The Mag 12 will be enough, yes. If you have extra flow, T out of the return line into a UV sterlizer and back into the sump.

    Sump/fuge overflow and return pump

SCWD is a wave device that switches current from outlet to the other and back. It looks like a big T connection. The advantage in it over a normal T is that is creates waves, not just constant stream. I like the 1200 for the 55, thats what I run on mine.

    Sump/fuge overflow and return pump

Your goal should be 20-40 times tank volume turnover per hour, assuming it is a reef tank. On a 55, that is between 1000 GPH to 2000GPH. If you get a 1200 pump, it will probably return 800GPH or so. You can always use the excess flow to run a UV filter or something. Just make sure you manage the...

    keeping sand clean in agressive

Thanks guys, I saw the 57W on the Depot website. I am now running an Iwaki MD70, 2400 GPH, so I have some unused flow. I think I will plumb a 40W or a 57W to back flow into the sump. Is anyone using the overflow holes for 4 drains and using 4 over the tank returns? I have a lot of flow to spend:)

    keeping sand clean in agressive

Hey Squidd, Thanks for the info! Can I ask what kind of UV you are running on your 210? I am setting up the exact same thing. I am debating between the turbo-twist (36W) or the Aqua (57W).

Is it just me or do skimmers seem a bit over priced for a piece of plastic tubing?

    FOWLR 210 substrate options

I am debating what kind of substrate for a 210 FOWLR: 1. Sand only, 1-2 inches of live sand, some new and some from an established tank. Great bio-filter, but can get clogged up, since I can not have sand stirring organisms. 2. Florida crushed coral only. Great buffering and easier to clean, not...

    Stand for AGA 210

Hey Squidd, I called them up and they said the 210 fits on the 180 stand without a problem. I think I am going to reinforce it anyway. I guess just some 2X4's in the corners and in the middle would be sufficient for the extra weight, no?

    Stand for AGA 210

I am in the process of setting an AGA 210 with its stock stand. I stripped it down and re-stained it to match my furniture and then I started thinking... Is that stand strong enough? If the stand is built by All-Glass for their tank, it should be fine, right?

Lighting for 210 Fish only tank

So what kind of light, hood, glass cover would you use on a 210 aggressive tank? If I use the compacts, would it bother some of the fish? Like a Zebra eel? Would it giveme too much algae?
